  1. Hey Guys, I have a 63 plate Rapid 1.6 Diesel, done Just under 58,000 miles. Over the last few months for some reason I've been getting about 50% of the fuel consumption I'd usually get, and I've driven a lot of miles since I got the car (In 2015) - Average about 10-12k a year! (Got the car on less than 9k miles). I first thought that it was probably due to the filters and such needing to be replaced, so got them done but this didn't change anything. My normal average MPG is in the region of 65-75mpg (motorway driving) - My current average is about 49MPG. I can usually get about 800 miles out of the tank, currently my max range seems to be only about 450-500. All tyres have been changed, oil has been changed, filters been changed. Went to my friends Garage this morning and hooked up to the laptop, no fault codes found and the sensors suggested that the injectors were all working as normal. Anyone else experienced this and have any ideas what might be the problem? Thanks, Matt
  2. Cool - Gotta go back in for another tweak tomorrow, as the mileage counter flashes when the engine is running lol, but they have the fix now
  3. Well today is the day. They did say i needed to bring all keys with me as they would need to be mapped to the new unit. So it sounds like the thing will be replaced... i dunno if there is a way i can verify that for sure though.
  4. Just an update, sorry for double post. They managed to somehow detect a sporadic fault, and have ordered the part in for replacement FOC under Warranty.
  5. Its been booked in to be looked over on Thursday, so I guess that means it is logged in their system.
  6. Okay great, thanks for the pointers guys Appreciate it! Have also confirmed I took out 24month extended warranty when I purchased the car 2nd hand via the car people.
  7. So now you're saying I should wait till it happens again? I believe I have an extended warrenty already, with the company I purchased the car through, I'll double check all the paper work before I purchase an extended warranty through Skoda.
  8. Yeah, that's my worry :( and they probably won't believe me when I tell them.....
  9. Okay cool, Will drive round in the morning, thankfully have one just round the corner
  10. OK, the funny thing is, the car started perfectly fine this morning, so I could actually drive it to the dealership. Went back to halfords, said the battery is in good charge... and is charging correctly. So probably is the Instrument Cluster, When I first turned it on this morning, it did say: Error - Stop/start But then I've turned the car off and on a few times, and seen the message since... Do you suggest I still go down to Skoda?
  11. Typical that this is both MOT and Warranty lol. I'm hoping I can get the issue identified before 31st November. so if it does need something new, I can get it replaced on the warranty. But it's not very helpful if I can't really move my car, to get anywhere to have it checked. 1st world problems.
  12. That's strange, I did a health check at Halfords in the Summer, they said the battery was in great condition, and even showed me the results, said there was plenty of juice in there. I don't really have another car to hand, or jump leads for that matter :/ It's just strangely weird that this happens straight after an MOT..
  13. Heyup, I have a Skoda Rapid 1.6 Diesel, the 3 year MOT was conducted on 9th November, Car is officially 3 years old on 31st November. However, I'm currently having a problem where when I do a half key turn, the radio comes on, the DRL's come on, but the dash screen does not, I then put the clutch down, the car sounds like it's going to start, but then shortly after it cuts out, and then proceeds to chunter like it's struggling after that. I've no idea what it is, but if someone could help, that'd be great. Apparently a friend suggested I should ask if someone is local with a vagcom cable. Cheers, Matt
  14. Heyup, Matt from Llandudno Junction, have a Skoda Rapid that's just coming up to 3 years old
