  1. i am looking for any advice info re fitting radio transmitters to 2019 2.0 tdi kodiaq , i am a radio armature and would like ti install a 100w hf transceiver . i have been advise that some modern cars can have adverse issues when radios are fitted (upsetting the electronics ). i currently have a 50w digital vhf/uhf radio with no adverse issues . any help would be good thanks in advance
  2. hi guys looking for a bit of info . i am a radio ham and would like to install a 100w hf transceiver to my kodiaq i have heard from some people that its not a good idea as it may upset some of the electronics . can anyone help currently have a 50w vhf/uhf radio installed with no adverse issues any help would be good
  3. ok so i called it heldex rather than haldex , you know what i meant , i hope that is the case that the new one last longer than the last. i know the system is used on lots of cars Evan land rover use it on there soft roaders. .
  4. hi all , post garage visit update after giving the car a diagnostic prod fault traced to defective heldex control unit , renewed under warranty (boy am i glad i had extended warranty) so the car is now doing what it should do when it gets slippy under the treads . the only thing that worry's me is the car is just over 3 years old with only just over 40k , why did the heldex die so quick and will it do it again in 40k (the way i drive that's about 3 years driving ) hears hoping it will last a lot longer as i dont want to spend £300+ every 3 years . i hope this is the end ???
  5. hi all this is a wee update before it goes in to the garage, after i booked it into get looked at the fault went away ,but on returning from my wee hol the fault has returned. i put my code reader on it last night and got a 00448 code , heldex pump clutch open circuit v181. i did a search for this and low and behold its a known fault on vag cars . its going in in the morning . i will post what happens (i am glad i have extended warranty) on the car
  6. heldex oil change before I picked it up
  7. just a wee update , after visiting the garage this morning , its booked in for early dec , I went for a longish drive this afternoon , part way through which I noticed that its stopped spinning its wheel , so when I got back to near home (private road ) I tried to make it spin , well it looks like it got a fright going the garage and is now behaving and normal 4x4 service has resumed . its still going in since it looks like a intermittent fault , the code reader showed heldex clutch open circuit any thoughts anyone???
  8. ps I asked if you need to get the fix applied (NO YOU DONT??? ) owners should be told this ?????
  9. the heldex was serviced before I got it as part of me getting it in june , all was well upto the service it did a wee spin just after I got it not far from the garage that I put down to the ecu needing to relearn 13 reg and yes it got its 40k done at same place its booked in for them to look at whats went wrong , I will advise the findings (early dec as I will be away ) but as soon as I know you guys will know )
  10. the lose could be down to the lose of rear drive that car has at this time that I hope will be sorted today , it was ok until they did work on the car ????? suspicion a plug is out under the car
  11. re above , no they didnt but i think they would have done the fix without me asking but i will be asking when i am in today if it can be reversed , I want some mpg back (lost about 4 after fix ) I will advise what happens later
  12. i think so but i am am old f**t and i call the vosa ????? same job new name
  13. vosa are the guys who look like police on the roads but are not they are the people who check to make sure us motorists (m/bikes to the biggest truck ) behave on the roads also control the mot standards . I hope this is what you are looking for
  14. thanks for the postings , I just looked at vosa site and you are correct . so the guy at my work was being misled by his garage??? also I got the fix done for on reason NOT HAPPY. I will be having words with garage Monday thanks guys , I still have to get the traction control sorted
  15. the fix is not optional ,and once its done the dealer / garage have to inform vosa its done ,if its not done and the fix is available then it will be flag when the car goes for its next mot at which point the mot wont be done till the fix is applied. guy at my work with chipped golf was forced to get the fix done (unchipped ££££££ lost)
  16. as far as i am told if you dont get the fix done you wont get your next mot , so if you happen to have spent ££££££££ on getting your car ecu chipped its ££££££ down the pan ?????
  17. i dont use arnold sharks since they tried to sell a banger to a family member??? so you can figure out where I got it from and where I got the work done
  18. OK guys I got the yeti in June ,all was well with it , it went in for a 40k service and got the fix applied , on the service they changed the handbrake guide .I put my code reader on it thus morning ,heldex clutch open circuit .so it will be at the dealer Monday morning so they can plug it back in???. I will let you guys know what happens
  19. yes the fix and pass on inflating tyres , it could be the cold weather but its been doing it since it was serviced 2 weeks ago , i put it down to the ecu needing to re learn how i drive . my understanding of the 4x4 system is if it sees wheel spin it should send drive to the rear and the system should power back at least thats what it did before the fix , now it just keeps spinning like the t control is not telling the throttle to back off . thanks for your thoughts
  20. hi all has anyone had there yeti updated then had the cars traction control go mad (lots of wheel spining and flashing tca light ). its only since the update that its happened ?????. any help would be good rickie in edinburgh
