2012 Fabia VRS... Car runs like a dream, around 90 K miles, had new engine at 30K under Skoda warranty...no issues with the gearbox, but car wouldn't engage one afternoon..., relayed home on lorry... then to mechanic ... Mechanic cleared the faults, car running fine again... Said that it was either a clutch problem or mechatronic issue... So the questions are, How long do I have before this happens on a motorway...? I can take out a Skoda Warranty again for about 8K miles, after that the warranty is null and void... Cost around £500... Is the mechatronic thing covered under the Warranty...? I don't think it is the clutch because normally the car drives and changes gear fine... This of course depends on the car lasting 1 month without it happening again... Please help... I am actually rather fond of the car...
