2012 Fabia VRS... Car runs like a dream, around 90 K miles, had new engine at 30K under Skoda warranty...no issues with the gearbox, but car wouldn't engage one afternoon..., relayed home on lorry... then to mechanic ... Mechanic cleared the faults, car running fine again... Said that it was either a clutch problem or mechatronic issue... So the questions are, How long do I have before this happens on a motorway...? I can take out a Skoda Warranty again for about 8K miles, after that the warranty is null and void... Cost around £500... Is the mechatronic thing covered under the Warranty...? I don't think it is the clutch because normally the car drives and changes gear fine... This of course depends on the car lasting 1 month without it happening again... Please help... I am actually rather fond of the car...

The fronts are on all the time unless I turn them off at that fuse box switch, but the rears dont come on unless I turn the lights on at the light switch on the dashboard... From the pics in the user manual, there seems to be a different dash switch with an extra position that would enable DRL's ...Is that so...?

Hello all Is there anyway one can get the lights to come on when the car is on and off without the beeping when you turn the bloody thing off...? In the front, I have two H7 or H4 cant remember which big bulbs for main beam and hi beam, I got two lights at the bottom with several tiny bulbs that are always on when the car is running, and I have two small bulbs ( sidelights) which never go on... Whats that about...?

Tried and Tried with Citygate Skoda... One word of dissent and they ban one... Anyone know a decent non main dealer VW skoda Mechanic /garage who does a decent job, doesn't charge the earth and is reliable who can service my car regularly and get it MOT'd once a year or thereabouts...? 62 plate Fabia VRS with engine change@35K Private message me...

The seat back of my 62 plate VRS keeps going down... Apparently not covered under the extended warranty... Any good ideas about who may be able to fix it for me... Not main dealer... North West London... Will also need good skoda specialist for servicing... NW london... Not much faith in main dealers anymore... If I can't get the seat repaired, any suggestions for alternative front seating...???? Thank you

My engine was changed in April this year 2017 @ 33K ... car bought in November2016 ... 62 plate VRS... bought a skoda warranty at the same time, about £400... Not using any oil... still at max... about 3k miles... CTHE engine... didn't cost a penny... Apparently Skoda paid for the engine, the warranty people paid for the labour... not my problem...!!!

1500 miles on a new warranty engine after oil issues... the oil is at the top of the dipstick... Result, I think...!!!!!!

Since Skoda put a new engine in, (VRS oil issue), my blower fan has stopped working on 1,2 and 3 settings... only blows a gale on 4 Any ideas please? I thought perhaps it is a separate fuse for the lower settings and another for the highest... but can only see one fuse... I hate going to Citygate... I have full skoda warranty until November, but am hoping it may be something stupid that I can fix...

I bought a VRS privately last November, 62 plate, 28K miles... didn't do any research until I got the thing home... Read up about the Oil issue and immediately bought a skoda warranty online from Skoda... After several visits to Citygate skoda, here in London, they have just put a new engine in my car... and assure me that there will no longer be any issues... "They know, because they have done so many..." go figure...!!! So I got 5 months of warranty left that I paid for and the new engine comes with a two year warranty from VW... The only point of contention was that the warranty people refused to pay for the engine, so VW had to pay for the engine and the warranty people paid for the labour... Result or what!!!! Should I be worrying... or can I be happy for a while...? Should I be getting rid of it now it has a new engine and warranty...?

Hi there... My first post... Question recently bought a VRS fabia 62 plate without doing the research... Seemed like an interesting ride... Thought I got away with it because its not a CAVE motor... However Bought with 30,000 miles... have used 5 litres of oil in 2,500 miles... Just taken out an extended warranty at nearly £400... Will the warranty cover this issue...? Is the cost of squirters and breathing stuff worth taking out the warranty...? Is the warranty worth the money? What else is going to go wrong with the car... Got a week to cancel the warranty if It has a full Skoda service history up till now... I bought it with a litre of oil in the boot... Should have told me something... What an idiot...
