  1. Was out with the family on Wednesday, and as luck would have it - it happened again on the way home - both times on the M27 within 10 mins of each other. Manged to get my other half to snap some photos of the display. As you can see, it wants us to take the junction, and carry directly over, and re-join.
  2. Hopefully this won't sound too confusing, but I have an issue with the ECE 2018/2019 map update on my 2016 Spaceback. Basically, on longer journeys, it seems to like getting me to turn off at junctions on the motorway, take the slip road up, and then back down the other side to re-join. Now, admittedly, I have been caught out by this little "feature" a few times. Mostly because the kids have been making noise in the back and I've not noticed until I'm stuck on the turn off, in traffic, for 10 mins. 10 mins that could have been avoided had I check the map and seen that it wanted me to do a "quick" up and down manoeuvre. So now, I always remain zoomed out a bit further, and I double check when I'm told to take the next left. Just wondering if anyone else has had a similar issue? It's happened a number of times on the M27 leading up through Southampton, and I think it's caught me out before on the A24 leading up to Leatherhead before also. Cheers,
  3. Short answer: I used the OEM card that came with my Rapid, copied everything off to a spare folder, deleted the /maps folder, and then used 7zip to extract to the root of the card (D:\ in my case) Long answer: I tried various ways to make an image of the card (Win32DiskImager for example) and the put that image onto a fresh 16GB card. Skoda must do something particular with the size of the partitions though, as I was only able to put this image onto a card that as 32gb. Didn't matter anyway, as the card was not recognised in the unit (despite technically being a mirror image). So in the end, I did the risky task of just copying the /maps folder off, delete it, and then extract the maps back fresh onto the card. Took about an hour to extract, but then it went straight into the car and just worked. As I said, the website could do with some better instructions (because if you forget to wipe the card and just extract and overwrite, it fails - not enough space).
  4. Just wanted to say thanks for this info - the steps worked perfectly, and my maps updated instantly. Took just over an hour to get 7zip to extract to the card, but no issues what so ever. Pity Skoda can't put a basic guide like that on the site. Thanks again!
  5. Morning, I've been searching and searching, and I've not been able to find a definitive answer on this, so thought I'd ask..... There is a new map update for my Amundsen Sat Nav in my SE Tech 1.2 TSI 110PS - ECE 1 2017. Now, I might be being stupid here, but do I simply download the zip file and extract it to a blank SD card? Because I've tried this and can't get it working.... When I put the card in (keeping the existing the Nav data card in as well), I go into the map settings, and select update. I get the "searching for update" message, and then It's identical to the issue described here http://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/310955-help-upgrading-satnav-maps-failed/ so I just wanted to double check that the solution provided was correct for the Rapid. Has anyone else with the same model been able to update the maps, and if so, how? Cheers, Rob
