hi i have been dismantling this engine again when i took the oil drain pipe off i looked in the hole on the block it was clear. i put a pipe in the hole and blew through with my mouth and there was a bit of resistance so i blew it through with a air line it cleared oil out through the hole for the feed in to the turbo. when i blew through with my mouth there was still resistance. does anyone know if there should be resistance or should it be totally free. cheers eddy

its i done 176000 mile ive only had it 7 month its working as a taxi.

im thinking it a cracked oil gallery. uve ordered a replacement head now.

its dripping like a tap

There was no wear on the bores. I honed the bores with a carborundum tool. The compressions were back up to 400psi.

i fitted new rings valve stems and seals were ok

hi i have a 2019 octavia1.6tdi engine code DGTE. it has engine oil coming out the exhaust and smoking vast quantities of grey smoke when it heats up. i fitted a second hand turbo and it was the same i checked the compressions they were low so i fitted new rings checked the valves and guides which were ok its still the same. i fitted a brand new turbo and its still the same. does anyone know if these heads are prone to cracking. cheerts eddy
