  1. Thanks for your reply at least it saves £250+ on oil change
  2. I was wanting to confirm which gearbox my sons car had so looked in boot and under spare wheel but no code sticker. Went to my Scala and no sticker either. Checked both handbooks no sticker in there as well . Have they stopped putting them in now? The car in question is 2020 Octavia 1.5 ACT Auto 7 speed. Garage has told him it does not need the gearbox oil changing as it is a sealed for life unit. Is there anywhere I can find the code without getting under car? Is it the DSG DQ200?
  3. I paid my car off 4 weeks ago using the method below:- I assume you are transferring by bank transfer, if so get someone to double check all the details and digits are correct before hitting the send button. After 2 working days give VW finance a call to make sure they have received it ok. After about a week I received letter in post saying it had been payed.
  4. Think I will leave it as the chances of breaking the trim clips are quite high as I don't know how to unclip them
  5. I have had another look at this and the brown cables I can see are the earth cables attached to body. I removed the net holding bracket and bag hanger but still cant pull carpet back. It looks like plastic trim needs to be removed but that's something I don't want to pull on as I don't want to break anything.
  6. Unfortunately I haven't managed to pull the carpet off yet to get to the wiring loom. I can see the loom through the gap behind the socket blanking plate so I may try and 'hook ' the loose wires to test them .The 'loose' wires look brown coloured anyone know if they are the correct ones? Thanks
  7. Thanks just need to get carpet off side now
  8. I have just bought a Scala but it doesn't come with boot socket fitted now (only available as part of a pack) 1 Does anyone know if the supply wire is hidden behind the trim (have removed blank plate but nothing directly behind). 2 How does the carpet trim come off are the edges just tucked under the plastic trim. Thanks
  9. Thanks but car was checked for updates but non available hence the no fault found answer
  10. I have a 2020 MK 3 Octavia SEL 1.5 manual petrol with 8500miles, bought new March 2020. I am having difficulty in getting a smooth gearchange sometimes not going in to gears straight away, and sometimes a jerky take up of drive. The clutch pedal seems high as there is not much travel before clutch engages. It has been back to dealer but 'no fault found'. I have had Skoda's since 1987 and never had any issues with any clutch/gearbox. My previous Octavia was 2016 1.4 (150PS) petrol manual and was a dream to drive. It is due a service next month and will try a different dealer the question I am asking is there anything specific I can ask them to check ? Thanks.
  11. Thanks for your reply.I may take you up on your offer when things are better for visiting.
  12. Does anyone know if the cornering foglights can be activated on my car:- 2020 Mk 3 Skoda Octavia 1.5 SEL Manual (one of the last mk 3) 1 if so does it affect warranty? 2 is there anyone around Teesside/North Yorkshire able to do it Thanks Barry
  13. Some good deals around (or was) picked up an unregistered 1.5 SEL in silver with spare wheel for £18450 on March. 23. from a main dealer not a broker . Went through PCP to get the discounts and 2 years servicing for £159 but paid PCP off . Only done 500 miles due to lockdown but appears ok with no hesitation or kangarooing.

    Citigo ABS

UPDATE Picked car up yesterday. My mechanic who I use (and fitted discs/pads in November) checked car and found offside disc to be warped!. Caliper piston checked and was ok. He has now changed both discs and pads again supplied free from his supplier and with no cost to me. Thanks for all your advice

    Citigo ABS

Thanks for reply's. Discs and pads changed in November Definitely the pedal and no ABS light coming on Tried the emergency stop and its exactly the same as what is happening while braking at normal speed. The car stops fine though Unfortunately we live 50 miles from them and not now going out so I cant do any more checks.

    Citigo ABS

Evening all I have had a citigo from new 64 plate now being used by daughter in law. She was complaining of juddering brakes. I had a drive and it seems to me that the abs is kicking in everytime brakes are applied. There are no lights on dash when braking either. Could this be the ABS sensor on the wheel? If so does it have to go to dealer to diagnose which one? Car drives ok and does not pull to the side when applying brakes. Thanks Barry

    PCP

Just an update she has got the finance in her name ok after all. So she is getting a Citigo Sel in red with spare wheel. Hopefully she will get it next week as there is one at another dealer in the UK. Still going to pay it off though to save on the interest charges.

Thanks for reply Auric would mean a second owner on log book and redoing car tax but may do this. I am going to dealer tomorrow and will ask them the question

    PCP

Hi Just a question over buying a Citigo through PCP. My daughter needs a newer car can we take the PCP finance out in our name but register car in hers? The plan is to get the discounts then pay PCP off straight away then she will just pay us back. She is working but has only just come back from Australia to live and has no recent credit history. Thanks in advance
