Help - which engine / transmission
Scherpa replied to darius's topic in Skoda Superb Mk III (2015 - 2023)
Everyone who talks about leather upholstery should know that there is a very small part of the upholstery made of animal leather. Usually, no animal leather is actually used, but the car manufacturers call it leather. In reality, you are using synthetic leather or leatherette as it is often called. I work in the industry so I know what I'm talking about but I do not know what Skoda uses but would be very surprised if there is more than 20% animal leather. Upholstery made of real leather usually comes as an option with significant price tag or is available in exclusive car brand.- 42 replies

Wind noise - passenger side
Scherpa replied to Casa1862's topic in Skoda Superb Mk III (2015 - 2023)
I drive a car from the passenger seat and I think it is a bit too much noise already from 55-60 mph, especially if it is a bit windy out there. Can not remember how it was on the demo cars but I think it was much quieter. -
Canton - noise cancellation

I have read about this in an article but not at Skoda's website. Do not know how effective this is, or if it exists at all, but I'm pretty happy with the noise level, apart from wind noise. -
I think it's about 2-3 mpg, I get around 50 mpg on my last refueling, 46 mpg since I bought the car (2000 miles).

I got 17" Falken ZE914A Ecorun which is developed to be OEM for VW Passat. -
My car does not have an inch dead spot or shift down as often, or perhaps better said my driving style is such that the car behaves in a different style. It is interesting that the car shifts down at the toe movement while saying that it is an inch dead spot in throttle respons . I have not tested the box so I can not comment on that but in many cases it is the placebo effect rather than big changes in how the car battery itself.

It looks like that little box is magical, changing gas response, DSG shift times and provides increased grip. Real Magic

Auto hold vs Hill Hold Control
Scherpa replied to mlwprescott's topic in Skoda Superb Mk III (2015 - 2023)
Is there anyone who has managed to get the handbrake turn on automatically when you turn off the car without auto-hold activated. It was standard on my Nissan and other cars I drove. -
The only time I got wheelspin is when I press the proper gas and has wheels pointing sharp left or right and asphalt is a little wet. Do you have the same problem when driving in Normal mode?
-
DSG or manual ?

Auto hold vs Hill Hold Control
Scherpa replied to mlwprescott's topic in Skoda Superb Mk III (2015 - 2023)
I think auto hold is available only on cars with DSG. -

There is no lack of performance in the 190 TDI Superb, there are few who find it. It has better or equal performance as the equivalent engines in the BMW 520 and Audi A6 so there is nothing to complain about. As for the DSG, it's probably led programs to suit most people but not all. No one has been able to make everyone happy!
