  3. Hello there . My Octavia 2007 elegance tail gate will now operate with the fob only which operates the release motor the rubber latch on the tail no longer operates the release motor. Anyone out there cured this ? I noticed a forum on this with similar problems , but no solutions . Thanks
  4. I had a problem with the indicator stalk. When I indicated right it would show left , it got quite dangerous. Sometimes I had no indicator response at all. I tried pushing to full beam and it alleviated the problem for a short while. After reading a few blogs and starting to think I needed a new stalk ,as a last effort I tried contact spray. This did not work initially so I prised the housing away from under the indicator and sprayed a lot of cleaner up behind the stalk with pure guess work using the spray nozzle tube, I sprayed the front bottom of the stalk getting as much into the gap where it meets the main housing and during this time and waggled the stalk into all different positions as I sprayed quite liberally almost soaking the area in contact cleaner. Anyway it has so far cured the problem ( 1 month) . I keep the contact cleaner in the car just in case it needs more.
  5. Hello Ed_ Did you resolve your indicator problem all those years ago ? I have the same problem with the ind7cator giving opposite signals every so often . If you did would you remind me what it was please
  6. I have a skoda octavia elegance estate diesel 2005 and i managed to cure rear wiper and alarm problem by re connecting the rear washer feed that hadcome apart in the rear. In a nutshell there is a male female conn3ction that had worked apart probably by fluid pressure during use. This soaked the electrical connections causing the rear wiper to work intimitently and the car alarm to activate randomly . It also showed up a door open light on the dash . To get to it . Open up the tail gate and take up the carpet and rear light cover off inside on the left side as you look at it. I found the electrics being flooded by the disconnected washer pipe. I re connected the washer pipeand dried out the electrics with cloth and then a hair dryer . It has cured both problems. .so far two weeeks down the line . If i have posted on the wrong blog apologies it is my very first ever blog....very grateful to all those useful blogs out there
