Can't Add SmartLink+

Didn't the non-Nav pre-FL come with it already? Or was that just most Fabias? -

So DM Kieth just got back to me, they said if your unit has the SmartLink tile then it can be activated.... £170!!!!! That's ridiculous, especially considering that older non-nav head units have it by default (my brother has 2 '66 Fabias with it enabled, lowest spec), and now all Skodas have it activated. -

My Part number starts 5Q, so it should be compatible. I'll see what the dealer says. -

It is, all 2017 Skodas seem to come with it enabled nowadays. Generating the code shouldn't cost Skoda anything either ("shouldn't", but we all know how these things go), the only reason I'd be willing to pay additional was if there is any physical work required, such as removing the head-unit. But I suspect it's a lot simpler than that... -

I'll ask the dealership to see if they can do it. If they can it I hope it'll be free! I'd originally read that it was £90, but as all '17 plates and newer have it by default it would be a bit harsh for them to charge for buying a car a few months too early, especially as it won't cost them anything. -
Hi guys. I've recently contacted Skoda to see if SmartLink+ can be added to my 66 plate Octavia SE Sport (with Amunsden Sat Nav). Here is their response: Thank you for your recent contact to ŠKODA UK. I am sorry for the delay in my response. I have spoken with our Parts Support Team who have advised that Smartlink cannot be retro fitted on your ŠKODA Octavia registration: YE66 UCS. I understand this is disappointing news, if you require any further assistance or advice, please do not hesitate to contact us on the number below. Now, I can see that the current batch of Skodas being sold come with SmartLink+ enabled on their Amunsden head units already, and was hoping to get it as Android auto is much more useful to me than the inbuilt sat nav. Has anyone had it enabled? Was the Skoda lady talking out of her backside?

Some photos that should hopefully help! My car doesn't look that dusty in person When I turn the engine on I get this: I press OK and then get this for normal operation: I tried to change the Parking and manoeuvring settings: But get this error: When I put it in reverse I get one long Beep and nothing happens to the screen, where it used to change to the parking sensors graphic.

Hi All, I had a towbar fitted yesterday with vehicle-specific 13-pin electrics. I didn't drive the car afterwards but now when I start the car I get "The ParkPilot is Currently not available", and when I put it in reverse I get a long beep and the screen doesn't switch over to my parking sensors. We tested all the towing electrics and they work perfectly. My reverse lights are working ok, as is the rear-wiper which comes on automatically when using reverse with the front wipers on. Could this simply be coding, or could there be something with the wiring? The fitter did find an unused ignition switched live to tap, could it now think it has a reversing camera? He's coming back out to sort it, but anything I can get him to check while he's here would be great.
