  1. Surely thats a Vauxhall Astra with a VW badge on. At least I hope that's what it is. Otherwise the Golf is dead.
  2. Nearly every idiot, regardless of how crap their motor looks, who drives with them [fog lights] on when I am at work and it's not foggy receives a cheerful little fixed penalty notice.
  3. Our old "green caliper" 06 plates at work were air con only, no climate control and no electric rear windows.
  4. There are certainly double din adapters available, our cars at work have them to hold an airwave terminal (which is as shallow as a taxi meter and would fit similarly i would imagine) and a flip out ANPR screen. Something like this: http://www.dynamicsounds.co.uk/connects-ct23sk01a-skoda-octavia-2004-double-facia-panel-p-8634.html
  5. Mine did this and it was replaced with no argument by the dealer under warranty. They suggested it was a known problem.
  6. I got my last set of Vredestein Ultrac Sessanta (225 40 18) from my local fitter for £96 fitted. Now they don't stock them any more. They then went on to suggest maybe I went for Toyo Proxes for £480 for all four fitted. I said no thanks. Am buying 4 Vred's from Camskill for £85 each. Then fitting at a friend's workshop.
  7. Our vRS was taken away last week. Replaced with a 59 plate FL diseasal 4x4. POS in comparison,
  8. you seem to have made up your mind, so why are you asking? don't throw good money after bad, but the genuine article, do not accept forgerys.
  9. Nope, still don't like the facelift, I much prefer the nicer face that mine mine has. As for the drl's, well, they're just the same as the old chavscum ****** lights that people stick on their washer nozzles...
  10. Nice that you got a comparable car as a courtesy, I dropped my Octy vRS off for a service and was handed the keys to a fabia greenline covered in advertising telling everyone just how economical it was.
  11. I like the colour coding, it looks good. On most colours. I am still not sure whether it works on Race Blue though, which is why I haven't done it to mine. Yet. On the subject of the plates... My one is almost perfect. I have to wait another 6 years to get KR15 to replace KR51.
  12. My advice is never to build what you can already buy. If what you really want is a vRS, then don't spend loads of cash on building one from a lesser model. Save your money until you can afford what you really want.
  13. Please can someone do this... stop the beancounters choosing our response cars.
  14. Inadequate power in fast road situations, not enough pick up. Clearly having been spoilt with mk1 and 2 vRS's (and having my own) colours this somewhat, but it is embarrassing just how slow they are. They just aren't quick enough to pick up speed, it seems to take ages to get up to a reasonable speed.
