  1. Quite literally 1 hour ago I was speaking to the Assistant Mgr at at NW based Dealer (not Simpsons) and this chap had been to the Portugal event (I was there moaning about my price hike/tax using this other dealer to compare), I also mentioned to him that I had heard they cannot sell before April and he said thats rubbish. He said up-to today they have had nothing to indicate they cannot release a Kodiaq should one arrive before April and they have fulfilled plenty of orders. I was quite surprised by this response myself. Also, apparently my deal which was £438, ..and now (due to VED increase) £450 would actually cost £495 today (brand new deal) for exactly the same spec. Apparently it is because pre-Christmas orders were on last years promotions and Skoda have adjusted the current year promotion to persuade people away from PCH. A couple of options then, I will try and have a moan at Simpsons but it looks like I have a good deal now given the national PCH pricehike so I may just have to suck it up..
  2. I have a copy of the 'front' of my order form, which details the lease, and Simpsons themselves have signed and dated and it says bound by the T&C's on the reverse of the form (which I dont have). I also have the finance approval docs but nothing more. :/ If its a standard 'new vehicle order form', does anyone else have a copy of the T&C's?
  3. [Also posted on the KodiaqForums] Well Guys, Im completely pi#!ed off! As you know, I ordered a Kodiaq Edition with high spec on 23rd December through Simpsons Skoda, recently been given week 19. This is a lease @ £438pm over 3 years. This was my max budget, really pushing the ceiling but I had bought into it given the high spec. Well Simpsons just called me tonight to say they are ringing all lease customers (Yeti, Superb also) to let then know of price increaaes due to the new tax bands. What the hell! They said it will push my lease to £450pm or I can front load it. The 190bhp 4x4 DSG is 151g/c02 so its now £500 for the first year (apparently Skoda pay second & third) They had worked into the price originally only £145 for the first year. My point is, the VED price changes were already out in December when I ordered and they new they were not delivering until after April so why advertise with the old tax band knowing it would not apply? (and not tell me - crucially) I may cancel my order, I cannot justify such a price hike (reducing selected options just puts me off to be honest). £450 would lease me a new X5 or Q7 before April.. Absolutely gutted. Check with your dealers!!!... Thoughts..
  4. Thanks for the reply Boxer. I will have a look now for the link to the manual. 1750kg is the kerb weight not the MAM. I think the MAM will be closer to 2.3 (but thats what im trying to identify). The van's MAM is 1300kg its kerb weight is 930kg. Yeah im not so sure about the DCC either as it is potentially am expensive option that isnt used that often. I have also herd good things about the independent rear multi-link suspension as used on the Kodiaq so im really not sure...
  5. Hi All.Just wanted to get some thoughts,Question 1.First off, I will be picking up a new caravan later in the year to tow with my Kodiaq. So, my first question is regarding Dynamic Chassis Control (DCC) - Would it improve the ride while towing, would it be a sensible option to add on (which I might still have time to adjust my order). We are hoping to tow regularly, once we get the van. When not towing, the car will mainly just have me in it so I will want a 'sportier' ride. From the reviews I have seem the default springs do a decent job which is why I have left this up to now.Question 2.On a separate note, does anyone know the Maximum authorized mass (MAM) or gross vehicle weight (GVW) of a 190bhp Edition Kodiaq, I can only find the kerb weight which is different. I passed my test in 1998 which means I may have to complete the Category B+E test to tow a 1300kg (GVW) caravan. It may just be over the 3500kg limit but I cant find the figure for the kodiaq?
  6. I ordered from Simpsons on 23rd December, due to some issues with the Skoda system my order didnt get actually input by 5th Jan although may have been some days before. I have been told it usually takes 3-4 weeks for Skoda to get back to the dealer with a build week/slot so im still waiting even now and I wont bother chasing them for another week yet. Hopefully I will have an April slot.
  7. For Simpsons Skoda, they are using AXA for the Finance, however I wont see it until near handover so I wont see it until then. Im sure given its VAG Finance it is fair but for obvious reasons I will be checking it line-by-line.
  8. For some reason I cant edit my last post? :dull: : Was just going to say, the above scenario is based on someone else crashing into me where I was not the cause of the accident, but my car was written off. It might be worth hearing what people have to say on either scenario?
  9. I have read this multiple time too, however, I am unsure how this would work, for the simple reason, say we agree to take a least at £300 per month, even if we take it on the chin that we have to make up the difference, we have only budgeted on an agreement for £300 a month and thats the contract we signed, its unlikely that I will have £1000's in the bank to suddenly give to the finance company because THEY ended the agreement early. Unless they would give you the option of paying the debt off over the remaining months? With the Kodiaq I have ordered for real the above example applies, should the worst happen I wont have £1000's (admittedly I know the gap will unlikely be that large but humor me here and assume it is) I have budgeted my monthly all fine but what if they cancel the lease and demand I pay the difference right there and now, are there any rights to assume I have a 'reasonable' amount of time to pay the difference in accordance with the agreement? And Yes.. I know this is what GAP insurance is for, let just pretend GAP Insurance doesn't exist for a second.. so how would the above work out?
  10. Hi Guys, I have been following the foums and this thread with interest for awhile (although only jsut registered on here). I have paid my £500 security with a well known northern Skoda dealership, and the order has been accepted on the Skoda system for the following deal, just wanted to get your thoughts. My requirement was a very well speced family vehicle to tow a caravan but have the toys I wanted. I was initially looking at an X5 or Tourag maybe a couple of years old, but given the technology, spec and offer presented to me I went with this. Taking into account I have 'loaded' it with a significant amount of options, do you think it is a good (1st for me) lease deal? Kodiaq Moon White 'Edition' 2.0 TDI 190 4X4 Extra equipment Panoramic sunroof (PH1) Space saver spare wheel (7-seater) (PJE) Electrically folding tow bar with adaptor (PK0) Heated leather MFSW (PLD) Adaptive cruise control (PLI) Ambient lighting (PN3) Area view with trailer assist and front and rear parking sensors (PPD) Travel assist (PWD) Electric child safety lock with rear window roller blinds (PXC) Canton sound system (RA2) Media Command (9WX) Personalisation of drive mode selection (8QG) Sun visors with mirror, illuminated (5XH) Free of Charge: Textile floor mats (0TD) Aluminium pedals (VF1) Lease for above vehicle: 3 years, 10,000 miles, initial deposit £2590, £438 per month (inc Vat). Thoughts?
