  1. Have had my new Octavia 1.4 DSG SE estate for a month now and find the suspension absolutely fine in all but badly pot holed roads (you need a 4x4 for some of the crumbling roads around my way!) Still she handles well and has never felt like letting go through twisty mountain roads we regularly travel on. All in all a simply brilliant car.
  2. It was certainly worth the wait yes. The race blue is a fantastic colour and even though she is only a 1.4 she punches well above her weight this obviously has much to do with the her "race" pedigree! I hope you're still enjoying your race blue beast!
  3. Just back from picking my car up. Have to say it is without doubt the best car I have ever owned. Plenty of power from the 1.4 engine and the DSG box is amazing. Very, very pleased, will be grinning like a Cheshire cat for sometime to come!
  4. Nice new years present for you to look forward to. Picking mine up on Friday so am counting down the hours, best Christmas present ever!
  5. Just had an update on my order from Skoda live chat, car was built on 15th November & landed in the UK on the 24th at Grimsby docks, a week later it seems to still be there. So that's 9 days from being built to arriving at Grimsby & has gone no further. Typical for things to grind to a halt once in this country!
  6. I always use android auto on my phone and then connect to the cars screen, you then have the option to use google maps or Waze. Personally I always use Waze as it has better features than google maps and has never let me down, best of all both the android auto and Waze apps are completely free
  7. Had a call from my dealer today to inform me my car is built and waiting at the docks for a ship to bring it over to Blighty, booked me in for 15th December to collect it so 3 weeks this Friday. Getting so close now am getting dizzy with excitement! Here's to 3 weeks of pacing around and cursing at my current vehicle because its neither automatic or a Skoda!
  8. Great news you are in the final straight. Have been driving diesels too for the last 10 years so will be a big change to go to a quiet petrol.
  9. Finally got my build week confirmed for next week, will hopefully get the car before Xmas! Fingers crossed
  10. It's not so much the point of being impatient it's more the way they tend to throw build weeks around and how sometimes orders that have been say made after my particular order week of 33 are built before, there doesn't seem to be much of a system that neither my dealer or Skoda UK can figure out.
  11. Ordered mine week 33, told at week 40 that it had a provisional week 46 build. Now only a week away from that provisional date it's still not been confirmed. Skoda seem to make it up as they go along, I think they may need a touch of the infamous German efficiency or lose customers going forward.
  12. Got some from eBay, good quality too, the link is: https://www.ebay.co.uk/p/2x-BROTECT-Screen-Protector-for-SKODA-Infotainmentsystem-Amundsen-OCTAVIA-2017/883570071
  13. Thanks for the kind words Peter, I have a very big incentive to get up and about as I can't let the better half have all the enjoyment of the first drive!
  14. That's what I was looking for, thanks roo much appreciated.
