  1. Sorry no idea how they got the door open. Have now downsized to a new Mazda 2 Skyactive auto. Very pleased an excellent little car but I do miss the enormous boot of the Octavia
  2. Local garage found the door module was not working charged me £100 for a second hand one. The VW price for a new one was twice this. The first time anything has ever gone wrong with any of the three Octavias I've owned apart from renewal of moving parts.
  3. Looks like I will have to find a local garage who knows how to fix this. If the childlock is on the door should still open from the outside. The only way the childlock could be on is if the cleaners I went to operated it when I was having a handjob.
  4. Sorry what is VCDS? Had the car for quite a while no problems previously.
  5. Cheers Tilt, yes I have tried opening it from inside and that doesnt work either.
  6. one of the rear passenger doors appears to be stuck or locked. I have tried both using the fob buttons and the key in the lock but although the two front doors and the rear nearside passenger door are working as normal the rear offside door remains stubbornly stuck. Is this a problem with the central locking? Can I rectify it myself or is it a job for a main dealer?
  7. Hey Tilt thanks for your suggestions. I discovered that the internal lever was stuck in the open position against the carpet in the foot well. Feel slightly foolish that I didn't check this earlier. Bonnet fastens fine every time now. Thanks for taking the time to help me.
  8. the catch bar is undamaged but when I pull the catch in the car the one in the grille doesn't come all the way out I have to get my little finger or screwdiver in to lever it out of the grille. I haven't checked if the lever inside the car has returned to its proper position. I'll have a look at that in the morning. when I was poking about with a screwdriver inside the bonnet catch the car alarm went off is that normal? Is it wired up to the alarm somehow?
  9. after applying WD 40 and fiddling about without actually undoing the two screws at the front my bonnet refuses to stay down. Any advice gratefully received.
