  1. Makes me feel a little better about the state mine is in, after driving around the backroads of Somerset last weekend.
  2. Cheers Nick. I followed that procedure yesterday. Hopefully that will stop the false warnings now.
  3. I'm going to do this as well as I'm getting quite a few false alarms. Rich
  4. Might pick up one of those as well for the next drive to Scotland. Thanks for the link. Rich
  5. Having come from a DSG to a manual it's manual for me. I might have had not the best example but as others have said, it was occasionally jerky at low speeds (though not all the time) and there could be a hesitancy pulling away at roundabouts. Could never see the point of a "sports" mode on a 138 bhp diesel either. Having said that, my old man loves his in his Tiguan. Rich
  6. One of the local taxi drivers here in Carmarthen runs a blue vRS. Personally I don't find the ride too firm on mine, and it gives great fuel consumption on a longer run. So far this year I've taken it up to the Highlands; down to Somerset and South Coast; and yesterday I came back from 3 nights on the North Norfolk coast via Nottinghamshire. I find it a very comfortable car. The looks and colour are subjective but I don't think there is a bad colour IMHO and I like both the Estate and the Hatch. Never driven a cc so can't comment there. All the best with your choice, Rich
  7. Parked next to a 17 plate Córdoba Red Vrs today at Loughor Bridge.
  8. On my drive to work and back - approx 65 miles, I tend to average around 47 mpg. I'm sure I could get this better but I'd have to set the alarm for earlier Rich
  9. My (much missed) Labrador used to sit on the front seat of my Zed with the seat warmers on. Or on the back seat of my FR. Basically anywhere where she could share whatever food I was eating at the time.
  10. Really enjoying my TDi at the moment. Happy with the performance and the consumption. Seems to be a pretty good compromise to me. Fuel consumption is roughly mid 40's and it's solid as a rock at motorway speeds (though it's extremely easy to exceed the The speed limit). Bear in mind I'm coming from a 140hp Scirocco and not an RSAMGM Wagon though . Rich
  11. Wish I hadn't read that last post I just picked up a used vRS and all it had was the compressor. Paid the supplying dealer £168 for a spare wheel and jack. Oh well. At least I got to keep the compressor - should come in useful for the kids paddling pool etc. Rich
  12. ClarkWGriswold- Rich - White 2015 Octavia vRS. Neath
  13. Sorry for the cac photo. Taken from my little Point and Shoot camera.
  14. Was expecting a space saver but had this 16" steel instead. £168 including the tool kit.
  15. Just come back from collecting the car from Marshalls in Oxford. A very smooth process. Haseed answered every question I had and paired my phone up along with all my contacts. A very decent fella despite being a Man U fan First impressions driving back across The Cotswolds and through the Forest of Dean is that the ride is more than acceptable. I've previously had an FR Leon which was MUCH firmer. Quite noisy on concrete surfaces but most cars are. The seats are very comfortable and gearbox spot on. After reading some of the settings used by others, I set it to individual with everything at sport except the air-con, which was set to economy mode. I'll need to fiddle with the stereo settings as, to my ears, it doesn't sound as good as my Scirocco. Out on the motorway you you have to be very careful with your speed. The mid range is impressive and car is like a rock at, shall we say typical motorway speeds. More impressions to follow along with pics - when this weather improves! Rich
  16. Cheers. Those Superbs are pretty fine cars. Had a good look around a couple in the showroom on Saturday. Rich
  17. Cheers Paul. I've also got a few days in The Cairngorms at the beginning of March and can't wait. Some great roads up there as well. Rich
  18. Good luck with your search Paul. Rich
  19. Picking mine up on Saturday all. A Candy White 2015 model. Will try to get some decent shots on an upcoming trip to the Cairngorms. Looking forward to taking it over the Pass of the Cattle/ Drovers Road as well. Rich
  20. Hi Paul. I was seriously tempted by the estate. Great looking vehicles. Re. Your T5. I had an interesting drive behind one a few years back in my 350Z. He was doing his best but not pulling away at all from the Zed. That was until he put his blue lights on Rich
  21. Hi all. Been hanging around the forum for a while. Some great pictures and some great advice on offer. The only Skoda model I've driven previously was a 2015 Fabia 1.2 Tsi with the DSG box. We hired it from Inverness airport and thoroughly enjoyed driving it around Sutherland. To cut a long story short I signed on the dotted line yesterday for a used 2015 Octavia vRS from Marshall Skoda dealership in Oxford. Can't wait to pick it up on Saturday. We're blessed with some great driving roads here in South Wales so it'll be interesting to to try it out here. Looking forward to being part of this Forum. Rich
