  1. On my Roomster the rear washer has stopped producing water, the pump is working on both front and rear, but I think the pipe is disconnected from the rear nozzle, I have had the panel off the rear hatch, and there is nothing coming out, I've had the pipe off and blown through it, nothing, but there does seem to be water behind the panel on the nearside of the boot space . is there a connection behind that panel, which doesn't look easy to remove, any ideas?
  2. One of my rear number plate lights has stopped working, bulb blown, fit a new bulb nothing happens, but the other number plate light is OK, any ideas ?, are they on separate fuses?
  3. My Headlights are absolutely crap, I don't know if there is a solution to the problem, if possible I avoid country roads without lighting at night, I hope someone can come up with an answer.
  4. Roomster 2014 1.2 TSI. Having trouble with one of my rear parking lights, It'll stop working , warning light comes up on dash, Take rear light assembly off, waggle the offending bulb in its socket, bulb lights up again, My question is, what type of bulb is it? bayonet cap or screw?, I wiggle it about but it doesn't show any sign of wanting to come out, I don't want to force it without having a replacement to hand, does anybody know what type it is? owner's manual is crap
  5. I forgot to say the current drain was 800 m/a not 8 watts, which is nearly an amp, the battery is only 2 years old and passes all tests
  6. This has been going on for a couple of years, my battery loses it's charge over a couple of days, battery has been changed and drop tested, so it's not the battery, when you connect the battery there's quite a big flash, I put an ammeter in between the negative terminal and earth, with everything switched off it's showing an 8 watt drain, (which sounds like a light being left on ) I have checked everything (boot light , glovebox light etc) can't find anything that's taking current. I have a solar charger on the dash which helps to keep the charge up, I keep a spare fully charged battery in the garage and occasionally have to use it, the alternator is charging at 14.5 volts, I've run out of ideas now, I no longer know an Auto Electrician in Wirral, all the good ones I know have retired, does anybody have any ideas???
  7. Thanks for the replies to this topic, they've given me plenty to think about, in answer to some queries, the radio is original, nothing electrical has been added, everything is working as it should, except for the current drain, I'll try leaving the meter connected for an hour to see if it drops,
  8. I forgot to say I'm resorting to a solar charger on the dasboard, which seems to just manage to keep the battery charged up enough .(when I remember to plug it in)
  9. I connected a meter between the negative conection on the battery and earth, it showed a steady 1/2 amp drain all the time, this has been going on for a while, if I don't use the car every day the battery loses charge significantly, I bought a new battery which was the same, so I went back to the garage they checked it and said it's fine it must be your alternator, it isn't, the alternator shows 14/15v when the engine's running. when you connect the battery earth connection up, you get quite a spark, which I don't think you should. I've tried all the boot light and glove box lights they are not staying on, any ideas?
  10. My 2014 Roomster has had a problem for a long time, if I don't use it every day the battery goes flat, before you ask, yes the alternator is charging OK, the battery is only 2 years old and does hold a charge off the car, I have 2 batteries, one full charged on standby, today I tried a bit of investigating, getting the meter out I find that there is a 1/2 Amp drain on the battery all the time, can't find anything that is causing it, the only thing that is on all the time is the alarm, if I remove Fuse number 20 (which is for the alarm) will that prove me right or wrong, or is there another way of switching the alarm off, any ideas?
  11. I was a VM in the Army, I know how to do it, my point was why don't they tell you what type they are?
  12. Why doesn't the small drivers manual you get with the car mention Spark Plugs, do they think we're incapable of fitting them?
  13. Engine mileage is 45000, the filter was from a main skoda dealer, oil is Castrol Edge 5w/30, both changed by me about 7,000 miles ago, this ony been happening occasionaly, on the first start of the day.
  14. My 1.2 TSI when starting from cold has developed a loud rattle for a couple of seconds, going back a few years I had a Vauxhall which did that when you needed a new oil filter, both similar type overhead cam engines, with the oil filter mounted on the top of the engine, I wonder if the oil filter drains down overnight and takes a few seconds to fill up before the oil reaches the cams, anybody have any ideas? or had the same problems.
  15. Yes, the light goes off when you lock with the remote, good tip
