  1. My 2014, 1400se stays in which ever was left in. And free wheel works from cold.
  2. I fitted the spare, full size, but did not drop the pressure. It took 3 miles to find it. But there was a lot of round about's and long bends so wasn't until a straight it pinged up. got tyre fixed and all pressures checked , reset TPMS and been fine since. I trust it ...... still check pressures every 3rd fill.
  3. Yes late but the road holding at low temps is still worth fitting them. I have same make, but the early model, tyres on mine they are very good when wet to. I'm leaving them on until end of March, or temp goes passed that magic 12*. Looking like a dusting of snow next week. Happy Motoring
  4. yes mine is a nice 1.4 tsi , I have the same mod's done. still the car is not the best. I have paid up for mine so would like to " fix it" but only new tyres will do that .but with 4-5 mm on old ones, will leave for now. got snow tyres on now and are slightly better noise wise. sorry to say but conti eco are not onmy replacement list
  5. I had c class before the Skoda. I have to say the 1.4 with DSG won me over, its not quite so good on mpg, 45+ never lower, but does drive much better. And much more space. I'm saving up for cruise 300 so should kept looking but this car was right place and price and best colour. Heated seats are leather only? mega price on the merc.
  6. mine has steel wheel and full tool kit in its case. Good job to as first long trip out the biggest screw you ever seen jumped under my offside front wheel on M6 , Nice ! The tyre is standard conti 5, 205 55 16 on a 16x 6,5 with a 46 mm offset. fits with room to spare even with thick sound damping.
  7. I had two days , well few hrs , digging out drive. Don't know why because I'm sure car would have got of and up out of the close. It is steep but under the snow, about 5", the road was wet so winter tyres dug down well. I left dsg in 1 manual , worked well. The car was grounding but not heavy so think was near limit. Steering and Brake all performed good on heavy sluch in car parks[sorry re spelling]. All this said any thing must be better than the merc c220 Ihad for last12 years. no winter tyres very helped that. So if all failed I have old Scooby with has never been stopped yet. tyres are standard size Nokian WR D3 which came with winter wheels.
  8. I find my self switching stop start of every time I start up. At some point ill have it removed. It does have some used at lights on flat level roads. My dsg car does not self shift to N so is used. Even if would never pass a driving test as park brake not used. I tend to use parking brake on steep hill pull of, allowing the pull of the clutch to stop the creep back to a min. so miss my merc with its one way clutch,
  9. I love my 1400 dsg. but there is room for betterment. road noise is not the best and hill start need park brake so you don't break your neck. At lights you need to look at rev counter to check if stop start is of . the engine is so nice. It is nice and easy to be able to up grade electrics with obd11. so you get stuff you dream of. I like the ease of this car makes my life, going to the tip, taking her in doors shopping, room in the boot and more. shame only a SE model .
  10. yea me to. its ok if your stuck for ages , but day to day travel its a total pain.
  11. I can 50+on A roads , ie around 50/60 mph , but put on motorway at 80 + mph it drops like a stone. I use eco with dsg 24/7 witch gives free wheel, free mpg, I am thinking of c/control but at £300 ish of my hard earned I don't think so. I do not drive slow ...... but I'm no boy racer. just think how I'm driving.
  12. I have noticed a slight reduction in mpg over the last few weeks. But the biggest surprise to me was on motorways , at speed the drop is really noticeable.
  13. Hi chellaman Could I ask , how did you measure the frequency of this noted noise. Yes its driving nuts to. I am about to fit some winter tyres on a set of second hand alloys of standard rims. we'll see. My motor has done 30,000 uk miles and are only half worn. I need ear defenders really. Goodyears seem a good choice. I love this car but this feature is not good.
  14. I have 4mm on fronts and 5mm left on rears so very reluctant to change them just yet , they are conti 5's . the winter tyre are Dunlop which do get a good 71dbs rating. I will look for some 17" or may 18" for next summer , I just don't want to loose the economy as it goes down already at motorway speeds. I cant win.
  15. I have a 1,4 dsg se hatch 2014 with 205 55 16 fitted from new. Road noise from the start, worse at motorway speeds. on some roads its fine but those chipping type surfaces its bad. I have been told its that the tyres are hard, well will find out soon as just got winter wheels and tyres + same size. I have put sound deading in all boot area and all wheel arches. very slightly better, more a waste of a day.
  16. I have 1400, but 140 brake,2014mod year. this is run 99% in eco. set in car mode . I tend to use sport for over taking like F1 Lewis . but that just a quick pull on the lever. Always restarts in eco. returns around 53 mpg. less on motorways - note to self must drive slower.
  17. Mine as similar issue when the rear dash camera is on. I do not use it till recorded music used. Cant hear it at speed any way.
  18. I to have found these to. but a lemon is putting is putting it to far. As I under stand it a lemon is a " one of" faulty car. I cant say that re these concerns. Yes it could be looked at against others of same spec to see if you think yours is any worse. I do not think it will be. I think Item (above) is correct, road noise is an issue but, I have been told all spec's have same sound insulation. I tried a few . All very much the same. What else can you drive for the money with such space and dealer service.
  19. I park mine front down on my steep drive. the front doors fill , watch out while opening. The out sides of the tail gate opening seal gets full but boot/ load area remain dry ( if driven to flat road first) . I did wonder at first if it would leak over but all ok. I have parked other way and found no water in doors or boot. Sorry not much help to you. I did use a bit of vasaline on seal . Did that on my old merc and it fixed that boot leak. Peter
  20. I have 2014 1.4 DSG SE. My PR codes codes very similar to yours. the last code no mine is 2UA is standard design. My thinking the different to me is trim level? ie cloth against leather look seat covers, door cards etc. ?? Does yours have cruise control? May be. Peter
  21. No, when asked there was no fix to holt the noise , they couldn't find any fault with gearbox either. In fact made it worse , with the soft wear up grade. I love the car, good mpg, loads of room and goes like stink if pushed.
  22. My2014 1.4 se as full sized spare inc tool kit with a mat under and over , tail gate adjusted and still does it. I have asked if there is better sound proofing at agent. but no luck. same answer as dsg fault.
