  1. My 77,000 mile 14 plate Elegance Greentech has recently started to sound a loud beep as come to a full stop, when you would expect the Start Stop to activate. The engine just continues to run and the Start-Stop icon in the dash display flashes constantly with a diagonal line across it. I am aware that this the system fail mode. It has happened before, a couple of years ago. When this happened, the fault did not clear after a restart, and my code reader did not find any codes, but selecting ‘clear codes’ seemed to resolve the issue. Moving to the present day, when it first happened, again, there were no codes found, but clearing the codes did seem to work initially. But now it seems to randomly happen - the car starts normally and sometimes Start-Stop will activate a couple of time perfectly fine, then all of a sudden when coming to a stop, the loud beep, flashing icon and engine continues to run. I know that there are various parameters which must be met for the system to actually work, but this is a totally different issue. There are a few other mentions on this forum of cars having done this whilst under warranty which have been cured by brake servos etc, has anyone else had any other experience of this and where to look? My thoughts are that it could be battery related. The car is on the original battery and starts well, despite over the last 13 months having gone from 15,000 miles per year to around 3,000. I know that these cars have an AGM battery, not a conventional lead-acid one because of the stresses imposed by the Start-Stop system, and most other cars I have had have required a new battery after around 5 years. Is it possible for an AGM battery to be failing, but still provide what appears to be a good strong starting current? I appreciate that I may have to resort to handing this over to the dealer to look at, but wondered if the collective knowledge on here would provide any ideas for solving this myself.
  2. Hi P3P5I, Did you get any takers for this?
  3. No idea, but the parts man at ALS Autos Little Downham found it no problem.
  4. Hi all. Having just had a 40k service carried out by my main dealer, I stopped off for fuel on the way home. As I pulled off the from filling station, the car started running rough, the engine management light came on solid, but after a few seconds started flashing and shortly after the EPC light came on. It seems to be running on 2 cylinders! I spoke to the dealer and they said it would be OK to drive in ‘limp ‘ mode. The car is now back at the dealers and I spoke to the petrol station about any fuel quality issues they may have had. I alao noted when when nursing it back to the dealers that the little stop start unavailable icon on the speedo was flashing and there was an occasional beep from behind the dash. The 40k service includes a plug change, could this be a dodgy plug or loose plug lead? Alternatively, as the car appeared to be running perfectly before refuelling, with the correct fuel, could this be down to dodgy fuel or indeed water in the fuel? Anyone else had any experience of this type of thing?
  5. I have just replaced mine for around £3. You have to remove the radio first. I bought a trim removal kit on EBay for around £5 which has a number of plastic trim removals tools and the radio removal tools - You also need a t20 Torx bit. There are good you tube videos on how to remove the radio - once out you will see that the clip sits on a little post behind the radio and is easily replaced. There is a bit of a faff pitting the radio back in as the harnesses need a little persuading to go where you need them to, but quite a simple job - if you have the right tools!
  6. And only 2 speakers.... and no rear wheel arch splash guards!! Apart from that, they are not that bad really!!
  7. Thought as much. The price to pay for a lightweight eco car I suppose!!
  8. Hi all, I am just getting used to my 'New' 2014 Elegance Greentech and have noticed that whenever the ignition is first switched on, next to the odometer readout, there are 2 strange symbols displayed that I can find no mention of in the handbook. They are like an upside down letter 'U' with an inverted smile at the base of each. See the attached picture. As soon as the car starts, they disappear. Can anyone one enlighten me as to what they mean?
  9. Hi all, I am just getting used to my 'New' 2014 Elegance Greentech and have noticed that the switches on the doors - windows, mirrors and locking switches and also the headlight adjuster do not illuminate when the headlights are on. It is the first car I have had where they don't. Should they illuminate, or is this a fault?
  10. Hi, I just did mine at the weekend. the instructions state tat initially use a 3mm to drill the pilot holes and then enlarge it with an 8mm drill. The key to doing this correctly is to ensure that the template is fitted and secured correctly. I ended up having to extend the holes a bit to get the mudflaps to fit and even then I ended up breaking off a couple of the locating spigots off the mudflaps. They are on and appear to be secure, but I am in the process of trying to get hold of a few extra of the clips that they include 2 of in the kit of the just to ensure that they are on securely. It certainly was not a simple job and is riddled with pitfalls! Given my experience in fitting these, I would definitely opt to let a dealer do it - at least if they mess it up, you have some recourse.
  11. Hi all, I went to view a Citigo at my local main dealer and they mentioned that their was some sort of tech bulletin which highlighted an ignition switch issue which was affecting the CAN-BUS on this particular car. They let me see the car which was running with the engine management light on, but none of the other doors would open and none of the internal electrics were working. As as such I assumed it would be a well known issue and fixing it would be no problem, but one week in and the car is not fixed. The car is under 3 years old and therefore still covered by the manufacturers warranty plus there will be another years warranty included with the car if I do opt to buy it, so there is some peace of mind there. I have trawled the usual on the internet, but can find no mention of this 'common issue' anywhere. So, have any of you heard of this fault and can provide any further details. Should I be concerned and just walk away?
  12. Hi all, I've been lurking round here for a while since the daughter bought her Fabia Mk1. Am in the process of buying a Citigo and have found some useful info within these pages. Crabman
