  1. I've already posted the link on here, go find it.
  2. Awdry (author of Thomas the Tank Engine)
  3. Sounds like the battery management has disabled most circuits due to the battery being flat. You'll need to recharge the battery (using a charger suitable for AGM/EFB batteries). You'll probably find once you've done that the battery management module will have stored several fault codes saying which systems it has turned off which may also have caused other modules to store fault codes - just clear them all and hope the deep discharge hasn't harmed the battery.
  4. Which many car manufacturers are doing under WLTP, but this time to INCREASE the emissions so that it's much easier for them to meet the next reduction of 15% in a few years time. I think it's impossible to trust any data from the car manufacturers or measured using methods the car manufacturers have a significant say in (i.e. all emissions and fuel consumption measurements including WLTP).

  6. Explain this then: On the B7 RS4 (4.2 V8 TSi BNS 420PS) the emissions were 324g/km and the fuel consumption 21mpg - but on the B8 RS4 (with a tweaked BNS producing 450PS) the emissions were 249g/km and the fuel consumption 26mpg. That's 23% LOWER emissions but only 9% LOWER fuel consumption. 23% is significantly different from 9%...
  7. American (center is the US spelling, centre is the UK spelling)
  8. So combine those two thoughts... lower emissions sells more cars and they care about sales - so they care about lower emissions figures as that is root cause of more sales.
  9. Yes they are related but it's not a direct relationship so 5% better fuel consumption does not imply 5% lower CO2 (or vice versa).
  10. Any they all care about more than just the emissions figures? I don't think so...
  11. VW will have done the maths to see if it lowers the emission figures they have to quote, that's all they care about.
  12. Elon Musk seems to be engaged in risk taking at the moment: Elon Musk smokes marijuana live on web show
  13. That's a big assumption with Sparshatts, they (deservedly) don't have a good reputation in Southampton (where I used to live and where I bought my Octavia from).
  14. Been too busy firing any manager or engineer who had anything to do with Dieselgate? VW plans wave of dismissals following diesel scandal
  15. I've had a backup plan for many years (needed it regularly when we were with Virgin as the internet stopped EVERY time it rained, since moving to BT only needed it when we moved house as it took BT 7 days to connect us). The backup plan is a TP-Link Archer MR200.
  16. Based on my experience of Sparshatts (all bad) I wish you luck
  17. I'm on the Windows Insider program so I get W10 updates every few days, never had any problem installing them on my tablet - which only has a 64GB SSD. After every update I always run the built-in cleanup to remove the previous Windows version, which is usually 12-17GB.
  18. Yes, same part number with HW18 but mine has SW 0137
  19. They don't care about a badge having meaning, all they care about is more sales. Enthusiasts like us are aggrieved, but the average Joe doesn't care - and there are many more average Joes (and Joannes).
  20. On a pre-FL Octavia III this is the setting for emergency brake lights: Coding, byte 16, enable bits 1 & 2 Worked on my 2015 model.
  21. Pre-registered because Ford don't have the WLTP testing done yet???
