Hi I am upgrading the door speakers and will insulate the inner door skin and door card. I was wondering about the outer door skin whether just Dynamat/Silent Coat is necessary or should I add a layer of dense closed foam like dodo Thanks

Dead easy. As stated above. Not an issue, reminders to add AdBlue start about 1500 miles left so again not a problem. I would not hesitate to get the 150bhp, 4x4 DSG, ours has been awesome.

our 150 bhp DSG 4x4 16plate averages around top 30's for mainly town and local driving and mid 40's around rural roads and 48ish on long runs

I had one of those rare drives today. 35 miles cross country from Sussex into Kent on good A and B roads with next to no cars on the road and I overtook 2 very easily. Left the TSi in Normal, good music on and swept along the roads. Cruised at 55-60 a lot of the way and computer said I averaged 36.8mpg. Very happy with that as I 'drove' the car progressively, not silly quick just a fast cruise. Loved it. On the way back I had a slower run behind lorries and a bus. Still very relaxing again with good music and an average of 37.6

I have driven our Yeti in the snow and it is very stable. No drama at all. I have driven my Kodiaq on some horrid muddy and slippery surfaces and it has so far been very very stable with excellent traction. I am keen to try the snow but down here in the South East right by the sea we have only seen a dusting.

The 2.0TSi is a very relaxing car to drive in any mode or it can pick up it's heals and whizz along with ease. I usually just leave it in Normal and pop the gear lever back into Sport when I want to drive more 'progressively'. I don't usually bother with a complete mode change, it just does not need it. It also worked really well in the snow today !!

Hmm, overall mine does vary as I quite often take it along rough tracks and into fields which obviously does impact on MPG. Apart from the tests above I have not really tried to keep any accurate MPG records. Mine has now covered 3,500 miles so I assume it is now loosening up. All I can say is - for normal local running around within my local town I suggest about 32MPG, on longer cruising runs of about 150 miles of A roads and motorways I have seen 37-38MPG on the trip computer. This is a very rough guide not at all measured precisely.

I really miss my Defenders but they aren't as good for long distance. Had Cooper's AT3 on my last one which were better imho than the BFG ATs UI had before. Interesting that the Scout uses either the same Hankooks I use or the pirelli. Never had perelli Scorpion Verde. Need to think about this. Thanks for the replies

hmm, very limited options, I had Cross Climate on another 4x4 and it never felt properly planted, so not sure I want to go back there. Anyone know what they put on the Scout models?

I want to change my tyres for a more all terrain biased tyres but keep my 19inch rims. I am mostly on slippery muddy tracks and grass with the occaisional gloopy bit. Can you advise your choice of all terrain tyre or at least a tyre that can cope with the above. My stock Hankooks are ok but do struggle at times Thanks

Quite agree with your comments, I drove all tests in 'chauffeur' mode to ensure consistency, I don't race or rally as the roads are generally too busy. It was more of a test or exercise to see what the difference was and not specifically related to saving pennies on fuel. It just struck be as odd that the Eco is MPG-wise the same as Normal.

I know there a differences in the config for both but I was expecting better MPG from the Eco mode. I regualrly undertake the same 60 mile round trip, uing some B roads, mainly A roads and about 6 miles of dual carriage way. After 3 trips on Eco and 3 on Normal the overall MPG is the same. The same to almost the same decimal point on the computer thingy. And it is always 3mpg better on the way back due to some very long inclines on the outward journey. So why use Eco? Any benefits i'm missing? Otherwise I might as well just use Normal mode.

I agree Near me there is a dealer I have called "the monochrome garage". Its a Mercedes garage and nearly always the cars are white, grey or black. You don't often see any other colour.
