  1. I have just dug out the copy of the Maintenance List for the PDI of my car. It states: Tyre Pressure of both front wheels: Check .. the tech wrote 30... (half payload) Ticked as Completed Tyre Pressure of both rear wheels : Check .. the tech wrote 30... (half payload) Ticked as completed. So either: The technician can't read a tyre pressure gauge so needs re-training or The technician did not perform a check and just wrote what it should be and therefore is not doing his job and needs disciplining or the tecnician is just incompetent and needs sacking. I will be putting this in an email to them once I have double checked the current pressure at a different garage as a confirmation that the first machine was reading correctly.
  2. After reading this I checked my tyre pressures.... All 4 were at 45 PSI !!! It would have been more comfortable taking the tyres off and driving around on the rims... Could not believe they were so high.... changed them to the recommended 2.1 bar... have a 250 mile round trip tomorrow so will see what difference it makes. I have to say I am shocked that this is not covered under the PDI.. I mean what did they check.. that is had 4 wheels attached and that was it ! Now I know why the car seemed so unsettled over poor road surfaces, I thought it was just the way it drove, may have to drop an email to the saleswoman asking why this is not checked, it has certainly reduced my new car enjoyment, even on the short drive back from the petrol station I noticed how different it felt...
  3. Just had my Menzerna Endless Shine delivered.... not it used yet but will try it out soon....
  4. Mine are Dunlop Sportmaxx ... road noise not too bad, but I can only compare to my previous A3 which was quite isolated from road noise. But tyre roar on the Dunlops is not too bad, not too noticeable on reasonable road surfaces. Parts of the M25 have horrible surfaces, and the road noise is horrendous but this was the same in the Audi on Pirelli P6's, so cannot blame it on the Fabia or Dunlops......
  5. Great choice of colour.... but I would say that.. it is what I chose lol.. just come one back from Bath in mine, round trip of 250 miles, had no issues cruising at 60 - 70 mph, very smooth and quieter than I expected. Nice to drive, on the way down to Bath I even managed 61mpg which surprised me. On the way back I thought I would test how it handled normal motorway speeds and Was surprised hoe easy it got up to 9.... err I mean 70 ish.... Very impressed so far Great choice and I hope you enjoy Margot.
  6. My picks are in ..... and if free practice is anything to go by it could a long season for 19 drivers and a walk in the park for 1....... we can but hope it will be a lot closer than last year between the top 3 teams...
  7. It's about £5000 per hip ... insurance will only cover £2000 per hip.... so a very expensive mutt... i must must live in a dust bowl.. every time I cleaned the A3 within an hour I could see a coating of dust... can't see it as much on white lol.....
  8. He is a Bichon Frise cross Jack Russel... And have recently found out the he has hip dysplasia so that will be a bill for £10000 to have a double hip replacement ☹️ I must say that the car has been easier to keep clean than my previous black A3 ....
  9. This is becoming an expensive hobby LOL Just got a pump sprayer from wilko's for £3 Also ordered BH Surfex HD, Poorboys Natural look dressing and Valetpro Citrus pre wash.
  10. They are standard on the SEL I believe....
  11. Congratulations - hope you enjoy it. Any pics ?

  13. It needs to to be cleaned properly and polished and sealed Job for the weekend - weather allowing.... Thanks.. Taken the dog out for a ride... now the windows are covered in dog snot... definitely needs a clean now lol.....

  15. There more people on here that can provide better advice for the whole process than me. Although I would dispense with the sponge and chamois, and replace with a wash mitt and microfibres towel, that will make an improvement to your current process. it all depends on how far you want to go, there are many guides available on the Styling and Care (guides and links) section of this site.
  16. Just a week away from picking up my Fabia 1.2 Colour Edition, dealt with Linda, excellent service so far. Got a good deal, and Linda has been great, no pressure sales unlike my experience at a large Audi dealers in London (that was a 2 hour procession of sales, finance, dealership managers) pushing for a sale. Dealing with Allam's has been a great, everyone I have had contact with has been polite and friendly and a pleasure to deal with. Have already done 95% of the handover today, as having worked for a car dealership before I know manic the first day of new reg's will be and Linda was obviously happy to get the handover done prior to 1st March, so all I have to do it walk in drop my car off and pick, up the new one.
  17. Got one from Halfords, used it at the weekend - so much easier than clay bars. thanks
  18. Will do... quick question though... will I need to clay a new car? Or just decontaminate the paint (iron-x, de-tar, wash) before using the Menzerna Super Finish then Powerlock...
  19. I have to agree with Hunty278 - I was unimpressed Poorboys Black hole, never really thought it did much for my black A3, used it then 2 layers of Angelwax Dark Chocolate wax over the top... same results with or without the glaze. Natty blue paste was easy to use and produced a decent gloss/shine my previous silver car. I have now got a DA and Menzerna Powerlock, so once I have the new car I will see what results I get with this on candy white, may stick to the angelwax for the black roof though just to try and use some of it up... seems to last forever !!
  20. I did find a website a while ago whilst looking for tyres. tyrereviews.co.uk list many types of tyres and people who have used the tyres give their reviews based on their actual experience - just thought this may be worth a look when looking for new tyres.
  21. I put budget tyres on the Zafira I had at the time (supposedly entry level Yokohamas) , then managed to hit a wet patch on a corner, everything locked, had no grip at all, and i hit the kerb bending the sub frame.. and was only doing 30mph at the time, vowed never to use budget tyres again, this was a good 7 years ago so the quality may have improved since then - but personally I would not take the risk. Personally I would pay a few quid more now for the peace of mind.
  22. I have only ever used the Fabric Guard on my garden furniture - but it works well and the reviews are good so thought I would try it on the carpet mats first - if all goes well then may do the seats and carpet with it to.
