  1. Thank you for that, I was slightly worried so thought it would be best to ask the experts ;-)
  2. A very nice person on FB tweeked my pic of our road trip round the Causeway Coast this week. Unfortunately Photoshop cant get rid of the road dirt, which is hiding the rust, but you can see that I've invested in a set of wheel trims since last summer. Just thought I'd share :-)
  3. I picked up 1999 1.9 estate last year and I've noticed that when the lights are on (sidelights or headlights) the switchgear gets quite hot. Is is normal?
  4. I said a little hello over in the Newbie section but I just wanted to show you my 250 quid 1999 Felicia 1.9D that I bought to tour Ireland in last year and it's just kept going and going and now after 8 months I've decided that it's now going from banger to keeper so I'm sharing my appreciation! BTW this years road trip is the North Coast 500 in Scotland. Anyway, I'll be on to the wonky heater motor & broken door lock threads soon lol!
  5. Hi guys! Last summer I wanted to roadtrip round the Irish Wild Atlantic way and my first thoughts was to rent a car but cause it was over 3 weeks it was gonna run to over 300 quid for a Kia and at the end of it all I would have was the Instagram pics and possibly a hangover. There had to be better options than that so I'd a look on Gumtree and this little 1999 Felicia 1.9D was on for £280. Called out to see the owner who was probably the typical driver for these in the day, older, retired and pretty good with maintenance but unfortunately he was suffering MS which made it impossible to drive anymore. Due to his condition he'd had a few parking knocks and most of the panels on the car showed some battle damage but otherwise it didn't look like it would kill us and he would take £250 with it MOT'd till Nov 16. Needless to say the rest of they guys road tripping with me were less than impressed with the new wheels and had little confidence in us making round Ireland. Well, how did it go? We had our road trip and it ran faultlessly for the 3 weeks and about 3000 miles crisscrossing the emerald isle and afterwards,, it just kept going, and going, and going with zero maintenance. Then 3 months passed then 5, then it went for MOT and passed and now we are in February and I'm thinking I really should take more of an interest in the poor wee thing. So it's off getting its timing belt, water pump and oils & filters sorted and for the rest of the fiddly little things that need done? Well, hello to you all and I hope that you guys don't mind me coming in and using all the collective knowledge on here to keep me motoring on a Czech shoe string? I'm planning on the Scottish North Coast 500 this April/May in it so it would be great if any one has done that before that would give me the heads up on what to see or miss?
