  1. How about buying a used Citigo. £5000 would get you a good spec, greentech would be nil VED, so the only additional running cost would be insurance and a small amount of cheap maintenance. You then don't have to potentially make an expensive mistake but just decide which keys to pick up before you leave the house!! If you can buy well then even if you decide the Citigo is too small you will lose very little if you sell it. No doubt you have realised this is what I have done!! It's worked so well that I've kept both and use which ever one takes my fancy on the day. The Citigo is brilliant by the way👍👍
  2. Check TfL site using your Reg no. My Citigo is Greentech and ULEZ allowed and nil VED. Also my Supeeb is ULEZ allowed and only £30 VED....amazing but correct when checked 3 months ago.
  3. I reckon Skoda UK are taking the opportunity to increase prices whilst demand exceeds supply. Their factories are running at full tilt and still there are long waiting times. When that changes prices will drop.
  4. Thanks Silver. I am rather disallusioned with my local main dealer particularly when I had a water pump warranty claim on my Citigo and they were going to change ( and charge for) the cambelt . Strange as the water pump on that engine is at the other end of the engine to the cambelt!! They would quote for just an oil / flter change but still £169!! At that point I gave up.
  5. Thanks for that. Very easy to follow. This oil change I have sorted with local garage £30 labour and I supply the oil and filter. TPS locally have 5l of 507 spec Quantum and a filter for £23. A bargain!! I refuse to pay main dealer £169+ for the same thing and a fancy video!!! Next time DIY...maybe
  6. I know this sounds daft but on previous 2l VAG engines I've always found the oil filter located on the front of the engine on the right hand side. Is the filter still there on the EU6 engines? I can't even see it under all the intake gubbins so wondering if they have moved it. Is it still a cartridge? Thanks in advance.
  7. It sounds like you have the same 3 cars as I have...Superb (Estate?)...Citigo..MX5. Great combination !!! ...a car for every occasion. Well nearly!
  8. Beat that...passed test 53 years ago....aaagh!!! Both Citigo and Mk3 Superb estate are excellent cars. I've had the Citigo for 5 months and it's brilliant fun.
  9. Do you have the Pro version? If so it is one of the "standard" pre programmed options. Well it is on my obd11!! If you haven't upgraded to Pro you may find it worthwhile as there are several standard pre programmed options that don't need any coding experience.... that's why I upgraded. HTH.
  10. I've been towing with a 190 SEL Exec for the last 12months...about 5500 tow miles. The van is max weight 1500kg. single axle. The Superb is an effortless tow car, very stable and about 26/29mpg whilst towing. Wouln't hesitate to recommend one. I've towed with an xc90..Tiguan..C70..and the Superb is at least as good as any of these. The XC90 especially has an excellent reputation as a tow car. HTH.
  11. This evening there's a Citigo on the drive next to my Superb which wasn't there this morning...how did that happen?? Thought I should cut the mileage that's mounting on the Superb so had a look at a Citigo last week and hey presto it's been born! 2015 Citigo Elegance 75bhp picked up from Garlands Aldershot this afternoon...bril little car...great service..Happy days☺
  12. Today was the first time that I realised ACC isn't as clever as I think it should be. I have some issues with it at the best of times but today I used it in the rain and realised that it makes no adjustment to "safe distance" when it's raining. I would have thought if the wipers are on continuous for more than, say, 30/60secs then it would automatically adjust the "safe distance"...maybe + 20% or equivalent of "2sec rule" plus 50% say.. Everyone seems to accept stopping distance increases with wet/damp conditions so I wondered why nothing is built in to cater for this. Any thoughts??
  13. If you put winter tyres on you do not need chains or socks in the French Alps. HTH.
  14. JeffA .....I found a similar issue when I first got my MK3 to replace a Tiguan. I noticed that the Alko hitch damper was very slightly easier to engage ..ie the lever closed with less resistance. I put 2 of the thinnest shims on the pads and it sorted the problem completely. I have assumed the new tow ball was very slightly smaller than the old one. May be worth a try.
  15. That's interesting BJ...I will look into that. Thanks.
  16. I have just bought a Superb estate....very pleased! However on all previous cars the 12v supply sockets have been switched via the ignition. I was therefore able to use these for a dashcam without having to turn the camera on/off on every start up. It appears in the Superb the sockets are live all the time. Does anyone know please if they can be recoded to switch with the ignition? Thanks
