  1. Really? I didn't realise that "INSP" indicated anything other than the car needing a service...
  2. Ok, having spent a good portion of last weekend scouring forums and the internet, I give up! Car was last serviced ~Oct 2019, ~26k miles, now at 28k~ and INSP light appeared last Thursday. Right, I thought, this *doesn't* actually need a service, just a case of resetting the inspection message. Have managed to clear it (ignition off, press & hold RESET button, ignition on, INSP disappears, release button, press again, start car...etc) , well, temporarily...start the car up...all fine, no ping, no INSP. Job done, or so I thought...next day...PING + INSP message re-appears. Repeated the reset procedure...still won't permanently clear... Any ideas much welcomed!
  3. Oh dear....it's gone again.... Waiting a call back from the dealer... Clear signs of delamination along bottom edge of screen... Strange that no else has reported this issue...
  4. Autoexpress Weekly has just landed on my door mat... As the owner of a 2017 Monte Carlo the new car doesn't move the game on significantly, not for me anyway. The most "exciting" observation is the bag hook that's now integrated in to the glovebox handle (as per the images in my handbook!). I'm hoping this will be orderable as a spare part, if not via Skoda, then perhaps via VW (as with the variable boot floor!).
  5. Hi, windscreen replacement date is 1st June.
  6. So, dealer says I need a new windscreen. They didn't provide any further detail as to WHY it needs replacing (faulty screen / incorrectly installed / other) but I will probe harder on next visit (was there for 40 minutes waiting for a technician to peer at it to confirm replacement!)...
  7. Wow...! I'm booked in to the dealer for Monday, so I'll let you know how it goes.
  8. Cleaned the car last night, and noticed this along the bottom edge of the windscreen....it runs almost the entire length of the bottom edge, but not entirely. Looks like a poorly fitted windscreen to me, with the white / milky edge showing water ingress. The car's not yet 2 months old (well, that's when I collected it, but it could have been sat in a yard for 2-3 months!). Views / thoughts, before I trudge over to see my dealer? Thanks.
  9. Hi. I ordered my Monte with DAB. I collected it 2 weeks ago, so I might still be figuring it all out.... It does work with the app but it seems easier to use the knob on the infotainment system to move stations - I don't know whether you can program presets, I think I need to revisit the handbook! Also, the system has a "small episode" when you connect your smartphone (I have an iPhone 6) at the same time as connect to the USB port, but after throwing up an error message it then settles down. I mean you need to connect via Bluetooth to get the phone & app working, but you also need to connect to USB to charge the phone. I'm not sure whether connectivity via the USB port provides any further functionality / any duplication of the functionality that Bluetooth provides....as I said, probably requires more reading of the handbook now I've had the car for 2 weeks. The dealer doesn't know much more, I mean, they didn't even know which App I should be using at first! I suspect it's all too new for them, but you'd think Skoda would provide some training / even an online tutorial for the dealers...?
  10. Well, I can only find one Skoda Service app on the App Store, for the iPhone, and I've downloaded it, and there's no English option, it's all in Czech...
  11. So, collected my new Monte Carlo on Friday - must say, VERY impressed with what £11k has bought me! Great drive around town and some nice touches in the car. I've downloaded the Move & Fun app, however, the owner's manual (page 156) talks about 2 more apps - Skoda Service and Skoda Manual App. Have checked out the App Store: - can see a Skoda Service app but it looks Czech - can't see a Skoda Manual App - can see plenty other apps if I search purely on "Skoda" Does anyone have any advice as to which apps do what / what's worth downloading / which apps are the ones referred to in the owner's manual? Many thanks, Neil.
  12. yes, it is and yes it probably could.
  13. Not sure I follow this... Second shelf for £50-60 (new price ~£99)... Each (new) side bracket is £11.86 INC VAT (I have just checked with my local VAG dealer) - x2 are needed Each (new) socket bolt is £1.02 (apparently x6 are required) This would total £89.84, assuming you paid £60 for a second hand shelf. Are you suggesting it's cheaper to buy all of this from Germany?
