Drivers side. Diesel filter is in the way. Passenger side was easy to do for me

Am I missing a trick? Just went out to change the headlight bulbs on the Monte. Got the first one done in about 10seconds but the second is still waiting. I can't turn the holder, there is so much crap in the way i cant get a good grip and even if I did my big man hands have no space to turn. I'm seriously thinking about just removing the headlight unit from the car to do the job. Has anyone got a tip or trick to changing the drivers side bulb?

I just changed the drl's in my monte today. Never thought about doing a how to, I assumed there would be one already on here. At 1 there is a clip that attaches to a thin plastic bar, use a couple of fingers either side of the bar to gently pry the clip apart and pull the top section away a little. At 2 and 3 there are tabs which you could use a credit card to unhook. I didnt bother, I just pulled the grill till it came out and all was fine. Be careful though, you don't want to break the tabs. Once the grill section is out stick a finger in around the 3 area and you will feel a plastic tab that you can push, this will release the fog light housing and give you access to the bulbs. Hope this helps.

Turns out the smell was caused by a clumsy mate who spilt milky coffee in the back passenger side footwell which then went into the airvent under the passenger seat. I'm now in the process of throwing all manner of cleaning stuffs at it. Hopefully come morning the smell will be gone or most of it anyway.

Will do hutchy, cheers for the tip. The smell does get more intense when I use the blower but leave the ac off so I expect the spare wheel well to be dry but it cant hurt to check

Thanks OzFabia, looks like I'll need to investigate this issue further. The car still smells when I get into it first thing.

That was my first thought but on checking the DVLA site the only thing that pops up is a passenger airbag issue. I'll call and find out first exactly what they say needs doing.

Cheers Jed, I'm now knee deep in the forums and looking up all sorts of expensive things to do to my Fabia. Unfortunately my first job tomorrow is to find out what the recall is that my car apparently needs :-(

Thanks hutchy, I just went with the a/c bomb thing and a fresh filter. I'm not entirely convinced it'll do any good in the long term but it'll do for now. I'll probably take your suggestion and get the a/c serviced soon. As a side note... I never realised getting a new rear wiper for the car would be such a ball ache, got the suggested part from Halfords (Bosch A330H) only to discover it was wrong went back after a hunt on here to get the Bosch A332H which was also wrong. Turns out I needed the A282H. My life is never simple

Hi all, Went out to the car yesterday to discover the car smells like death, it was absolutely fine the day before. I'm assuming its the aircon causing this as yesterday was the first warm day we've had since I bought the car and I'm guessing the previous owner either didn't use the aircon. I'll be looking to get some aircon cleaner and new filters (air if needed and pollen because nobody does pollen filters on cars I buy). Anything else I should be looking at cleaning/changing while I'm at it? Cheers, Neil
