  1. Problem I'm going to have is how to undo the clamps for the glass as I can't drop the window any ideas?
  2. Doing some research it could be either the regulator or the motor. Is there any guidance as to how best to remove them for checking? Cheers
  3. Hi as above. We heard a snap sound the last time the window close and now it won't open? It's got power and from what I can see the window wants to work just won't drop. Door card is off but nothing obvious. I've disconnected and reconnected the harness but still not working. Any ideas please?
  4. The engine was running while bleeding the system. Would this not have the same effect?
  5. OK so it would seem the brakes have been bled many times already and with a pressure bleeder. But the peddle is still rubbish only really working from around halfway down. Anyone got any ideas?
  6. I'm not sure which is why I ask. But doing some more research I might ask for it to be pressure bled across all 4 calipers see if that works. Fingers crossed 🤞
  7. Hi I've had new discs, pads and refurbished green calipers fitted to the rear of my octavia. But the brake pedal feels terrible and doesn't really bit until about halfway down. The system has been bled and pressure tested. What could be wrong does the octavia have a rear brake compensator valve which maybe defective after the system was opened up. Cheers
  8. I used the above guides to help me remove the door card with the main issue being how the grab handle comes off but turns out it does just prise off with a little gentle force with a flat head screwdriver.
  9. A big thanks to everyone who has guided me through this I couldn't of done it without your help. I'll try next weekend to put together an idiot's guide with step by step pics including that easily overlooked last bit 😅
  10. That was exactly it I simply slotted it back in far to slack and it stopped open. So I released it pulled the cable and the door unlatched. It's now clipped in almost all the way and door works perfectly. See pic below.
  11. Hi I would do a how too but I still haven't fixed it lol. Fitted the new lock/module shut the door opened it all good. Locked it then unlocked it but door won't open from inside or out ha ha. Anyone else had this issue? Could the new part be defective?
  12. Spot on fellas I'll have a look this weekend. It's like anything once you've done it once it's easy. I've already ordered a new lock/module for £20 with 5yr warranty so not bad.
  13. What else holds it in other than the door shut fixings? Yes it's getting power you hear it but the mechanism doesn't move.
  14. Right I've checked the loom and connector blocks inside the door and no corrosion on any pins. The door will lock and unlock around 3 times on the fob before it stops. Then I move the release mechanism back and forth then it works again. Is there a micro switch in the lock which is failing? I tried to remove the door lock but even with lock fixings removed I couldn't get it out !
  15. I'm in thanks for your advice. Next issue and the reason for wanting to be in. The door only sometimes locks/unlocks. But nothing obvious. What could be the problem? I can get it to work by pulling on the release cable then lock and unlock and it works. Could the cable have stretched?
  16. Brilliant thank you I didn't want to risk just doing it and damaging the handle. But now I know. Cheers
  17. Yep good choice I've just done the same with a gearbox rebuild too. I figured that the manufacturer wouldn't have fitted it if not needed.
  18. Hi back for a second time with a mk1 vrs after previous ownership in 2017. Problem is once torx screws out and electric window which removed and another screw removed behind handle I'm struggling to see how the grab handle comes off so I can lift the door card up and off? Please help.
