Octavia MkII rear fogs not working
ChrisVRS1 replied to ChrisVRS1's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk II (2004 - 2013)
You were spot on pikpilot. Got a look at it today. Orange with rust and a broken wire. Found the leak also. Two rubber grommits at the top of the bootlid where the water runs off the roof. All sealed up again. will get a look at the wiper tomorrow cheers guys -
Can someone point me in the direction of how to test for a break in the wiring between my switch and the rear fogs. I have a multimeter but unsure of which wires in checking changed the bulbs twice. the orange light illuminates on dash but not on the switch. the rear wiper has also stopped working at the same time? thanks in advance

Help. What is this pipe?
ChrisVRS1 replied to ChrisVRS1's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk II (2004 - 2013)
After some googling i believe your correct. It has become brittle and split. Should i just buy the original part again or can i cut the pipe off and fit a piece of similar hose i may have laying around? -
So i was cleaning my engine bay, noticed a pipe thats split at both ends and air is hissing out of it when the car is running what is it?

Hey brothers and sisters. I have come across a picture of a golf with the VW helios wheels on. (Same as mine) The difference is the centre caps are chrome. I have tried every wheel refurb company in northern ireland and no one can do it because the centre caps are plastic. Can anyone tell me where to get this done or where to buy them? Pleaseeeee

2007 2.0TFSI VRS Octavia Lowering advice
ChrisVRS1 replied to ChrisVRS1's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk II (2004 - 2013)
50mm vogtland springs. £104. Over speed ramps is a bit bouncy but no scuffing or rubbing. Handles better round roundabouts at speed. I think it looks fantastic. Perfect gap all around. Would recommend -

2007 2.0TFSI VRS Octavia Lowering advice
ChrisVRS1 replied to ChrisVRS1's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk II (2004 - 2013)
Fitted the wheels this afternoon. I think they look great on. I didnt stick the VW centre caps on. Im going to source other ones. But it definately needs lowered asap. Im not sure another 35mm is going to make me happy. Maybe coilovers are the answer. -

Thanks for the response. Your car looks great. Im so undecided lol. Whatever i choose il post pics cheers -
Hi, I have just purchased 19" VAG style Helios alloys. Going to have them fitted over the weekend. I need advice on lowering. I want the car to sit low but dont want to have to avoid all speed bumps etc. I also dont want to have to change suspension parts every few months due to being too stiff. I have gone off the idea of coilovers and settled on getting springs. From what i have read H&R 50mm springs seem to be the answer. Anyone any good advice? I want the car to look like the pic Thanks Chris

2.0 TFSI VRS Octavia diverter valve?
ChrisVRS1 replied to ChrisVRS1's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk II (2004 - 2013)
Sorted. Disconnected the battery for an hour or so and a short drive up the street and the ESP and tyre pressure lights went out. All is good again. Thanks again -

ChrisVRS1 replied to ChrisVRS1's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk II (2004 - 2013)
Yeah my old one ended in C. Just before i changed it, it put the engine management light on so il have to arrange to get it turned off. Assuming its an overboost fault -

ChrisVRS1 replied to ChrisVRS1's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk II (2004 - 2013)
Fitted this diverter valve today. The difference is night and day. Altho the old one didnt seem to be split. No obvious signs of a tear in the orange rubber. But its made a hell of a difference. All the low rev torque back. Spins the wheels very easily. I feel as tho i have had another 50bhp added. And no stupid dump valve noise. No whoosh when decelerating. Good result. -
