  1. Hi would you post to Kent? If so would you PM me?
  2. Can you PM me please, I'll take the hoses.
  3. That’s he way I did it but remember the order of bleeding is dictated by which abs pump you have (pictures below for you, if you have a standard air box it will be harder to see); there are 5 or so different types. I had a look at a Haynes manual which set it out but sure someone on here will have the diagram to compare.
  4. The top and bottom are the black rubber caps over he two bleed valves. The middle picture shows where they are located from a top view of the engine (if the plastic housing wasn’t there). Both valves are are accessible without removing any engine components. Any problems just message me.
  5. I just thought I would share a solution I've come across. Apologies if this has been covered, but I couldn't find it when i was in need. I replaced the brake fluid on my newly purchased 51 plate Octavia VRS, after also replacing each bleed valves on the calipers and pressurising the system the brake only engaged for the last 10% of travel of the brake pedal. I have another VRS which engages the brakes almost immediately, so I knew it wasn't right; I was about to replace the brake master cylinder when I notice that it also has two additional bleed valves on the top of the BMC itself as well. I have never seen that on any other car I've worked on, but when I bled those as well the brakes are now great. Just thought this may save someone else some time and money!
  6. Is this still for sale? Would you be willing to chuck it in a box and send it by DPD (obviously I'd pay that)?
  7. It's exchanges like this that make me love this site.
  8. Thanks very much, much appreciated! I'll book a day in the diary for polishing...the wife will be pleased.
  9. I had a similar problem with mine, the metal connectors inside become corroded and give bad readings. Why the previous owner didn't just get a new one from for Europart for £15 (plus £6 for a new cap) is beyond me. Small tip. It is worth buying electrical connector cleaner (spray can with a brush head) and connector grease (in a can and only use a tine amount). This helps the connectors work properly and for longer.
  10. I've recently installed a Collins DV from Ebay (an smaller Essex based company I think) and it works well, also provides that louder noise on gear changing (if thats you bag).
  11. I have bought and love my Red VRS, and some good efforts have been made with colourfast to try to bring it back but it still returns to a lighter (and far less attractive) orange/dull red, it is 13 years old after all and previous owners have not cared for it as I do. Has anyone had had any luck or ideas with making theirs that shiny new red again? P.S. Apologies if this has been covered on here but I have searched for "Red" and "paint" with no success. Many thanks in advance.
  12. I recently bought a red Skoda Octavia Mk1 VRS and only wish I'd done it sooner! The posts from members here have already been a time/cost saver so very much appreciated!!!
