  1. Thanks. A couple of people on one of the Octavia vrs forums have stated issue is likely the actuator but when you try to replace it breaks the turbo almost every time - hence the cost. My my dads over in Rotherham so any suggestions on good VW /Skoda specialists who win’t Try and rip him off?
  2. hoping someone on here can help my dad. He has a mk3 ‘14 plate Octavia 1.4 Elegance which has done just 15.8k miles. Had the car in for a service with his local Skoda dealer today and the little engine symbol and the EPC symbol keep popping up. Skoda said his turbo needs replacing and have quoted him £1460 incl parts and labour which my dad’s obviously not happy about. He’s queried why he should pay anything given the low mileage and they’ve come back and offered to pay 45% which still leaves him with a bill of £800. My dad’s adamant there’s no diff in how the car drives and is picking up nicely so looking for thoughts / suggestions on how to take this forward. Is there a sensor on the turbo and could it be faulty? Is there a cheaper way of replacing the turbo? Has anyone else managed to get a 5 yr old turbo replaced for free when out of warranty? And did you have to escalate via Skoda UK customer services? Would really appreciate some help with this thanks in advance
  3. Still need to do - is my wife’s Fabia mk2
  4. Was the loom plus fitting. Don’t fancy spending £300 and just considering my options. Downside is i’m Crap on cars so fitting myself isn’t really an option
  5. Hoping someone can help as i’m looking to upgrade the speakers in a Fabia mk2 monte. Believe there are 8 speakers incl 2 in the A frame anyone know the type and size of these so I can find some alternatives as the sound is very tinny. Thanks in advance
  6. Just had my wife’s mk2 Monte 1.2TSI 105 mapped by JBS Auto Design. car’s running 145 bhp and 174 ft lbs (235 NM) with no other mods. Like a whole new car and very smooth so would highly recommend this for someone seeking a bit more power/torque until Skoda launch the mk4 Fabia with an engine bigger than 1.0 L
  7. Loom went on drivers side and local Skoda dealer quoted me £299.
  8. Correct WK36 is the first week for MY19 superb - was a post about it a few months back on the superb thread
  9. You can order the digital dash but they are only available wirh MY19 cars which won’t Be available for 3 months. The cost is already known to dealers as it’s an option on the Octy MY19 cars
  10. That’s short... quite a few of us waited over 200 days for our 245s and one lads will end up waiting 260 days
  11. Sounds about right. Only MY19 vrs available to order and the diesel is DSG only starting WK48 - so beginning of December start build + add 4-5 weeks for delivery
  12. My wife has a ‘13 plate monte with a nice little 1.2TSI engine with 105bhp. She’d like to upgrade to something more sporty, quicker and with a touchscreen media system like the one available on all the Mk3 Fabias plus she’d like the control buttons on the steering wheel. i know we can do a stage 1 map to boost the engine from 105bhp to c129bhp, but can she also fit a bolero or Amundsen touchscreen with Bluetooth and replace the steering wheel for one with controls? Or do we need to either change brand to say as Ibiza FR or wait a couple of years for the mk4 Fabia vrs? She likes her monte so what’s possible folks? Thanks in advance
  13. Not always compensation. They extended the lease on my old vrs and paid the mot and tyres to keep running it until the 245 arrived 3 months later. Seemed like a fair deal to me
  14. A dealer mentioned to me that the MY19 245 would actually have less power than the MY18 245 due to the WTLP changes but i’ve not seen anything confirming that. However, could be true given the cupra, Golf R and superb 280 engines are all confirmed as being less bhp than in MY18 - wouldn’t surprise me
  15. New WLTP mean most engines are being downgraded. The golf R is dropping 10bhp from 306bhp to 296bhp (300PS)
  16. At least you’ll all have ur 245s with the old engine so won’t need to worry about performance being reduced
  17. The MY19 245 spec is known and has been known for around a month. Someone posted the details on this site - think under the MY19 post. It includes costs of options such as digital dashboards. Diesel vrs will also be available from wk 48 (also confirmed in this brochure/update) which was sent to all dealers
  18. You guessing? Hoping or heard something?
  19. Get some pictures of your pride and joy posted otherwise we won’t believe you.
  20. Thanks - saw when you originally posted. What it doesn’t cover is the ‘Challenger plus pack’ or whatever skoda were calling it when they said there was going to be a big reveal at Geneva. Think most are assuming this will be an upgrade (possibly addional bph) from the MY19 VRS which is effectively the MY18 245 with digital display option and single working exhaust (but still 2 showing for effect)
  21. Looks ace but 4 days! A pigeon could ruin that in 30 seconds and u’d be on suicide watch
  22. This was the motor show in March this year... there were no reveals re VRS
