  1. Sorry to hear about that! I hate shoddy workmanship. At least it sounds like good news about the sound. My occy has just gone into the body shop today. Some idiot tried reversing into a gap next to me and got it completely wrong. Left a nice chunk of paint missing on my bumper and cracked my reg plate. While its getting sorted I've been given the most basic CitiGos known to man. Great fun revving the nuts off it to get anywhere! Now that's a tinny sounding engine!
  2. That's interesting. My ideal car would be the vRS with the 150 engine. How does the TSI vRS fare for real world use?
  3. That's great thanks! I assume I would have to pay for the dealer to do a firmware update?
  4. I've had my Octavia for about a month and noticed my Columbus system hasn't been updated in a while. In my glove box I have an empty case which should of housed an SD card for the system. Can I use a regular SD to update it?
  5. Yea it was used for motorway runs by an older gent for the first three years of it's life. Serviced every 10k and arrived to me with new brake disks and pads and new set of Pilot Sport 4s on each corner. Been very well kept and will continue to be. I have noticed a slight creaking on the rear right side suspension when its cold so I'm assuming its probably a bush? Can't say I've noticed any different but then again I've only had the car a month or so so its been too cold to drive too often with the window down. I'll keep an ear out for it though and let you know! It may be just the engine settling in once up to temp. Mine drives very smooth and goes like the clappers when I put my foot down. I've always thought mine sounds quite meaty/throaty when up to temp.
  6. Yea I would of thought it would be more precise. My Elegance is running on 17" wheels so feels that bit sportier. I'll definitely give a TSI vRS a test drive next time I get a chance. Will be good to compare.

  8. Interesting to know! Well I've only had this car for a month but next purchase I will make sure I test drive a TSI
  9. Could be an option! May look into that when it needs doing. Yea belt was done at 75k I believe. Only having the car a month I'm not 100% sure. My service book is an electronic one so it doesn't doesn't say much in the book
  10. Ok that's cool for some reason I got the impression other parts would need replaces at this kind of mileage? No idea why I thought that! Although the dpf is expensive enough to sort out lol.
  11. To be fair you covered all I wanted to know anyway! That's awesome thanks for the explanation. Is the difference only marginal or is there a big difference on ride quality between the two?
  12. My 2014 2.0 TDi estate is coming up to 85k soon. I do about 15k a year mixed driving but have had the car for about a month. It's an ex pcp car and has been well kept and maintained by the Skoda dealer with full service history. I'm most likely to hit 100k in the next year. What parts are going to need looking at? I know the dpf will need sorting at 100k but what else is due?
  13. That's cool what difference does that make to the ride? Be interesting to see! If I'm lucky mine could be pushing a bit more out.
