  1. Anyone? I can do a activation on the n75 and it clicks and clacks as it should so the ECU has control over it. My only thoughts at the moment are when its being commanded at 100% it is not holding postion. There is no turbo whistle when it is requesting the higher boost that would indicate a boost leak.
  2. I have a 2003 Octavia VRS with the AUQ lump. Had it over a year and have got it running perectly in standard form holding 0.6 bar of boost. Anyhow i bought remapped stage 1 ECU from another AUQ which was running fine. Swapped the ecu over and expected to see 1.2bar peak and holding around 1 bar. However it only makes 0.4 bar now. No fault codes. I checked live data and requested boost is 2500mb and actual is 1400mb pretty much through the rev range using data block 115. I then checked the N75 duty cycle on data block 118 and it is pretty much 100% when ever I try too boost which leads me to believe its trying to hold the wastegate shut but for whatever reason not making boost. N75 is new genuine from tps but as a test I bypassed it with an old manual boost controller I have and it holds 1 bar boost all day long and builds boost quickly. So unlikely too be a huge boost leak? Popped the old ecu back in and she runs perfectly, boosting too 0.9 bar and then holding at 0.6 which leads me to think everything is working as it should. What am I missing? Any suggestions? Also 2500mb requested boost minus the atmospheric pressure is what 1.5 bar, isn't that a bit much for stage 1? Any help greatly appriciated, cheers
  3. Bypass the relay with a split pin or piece of wire in case the relay has failed internally. Quite common. If the pump fires then its the relay, if not then check feeds at pump. Not sure what pins but typically there will be 4 wires, just put the meter on the two thickest wires.
  4. Anti roll bar bushes? Often overlooked and tend to go in pairs
  5. I did a repair kit on my mk4 golf which is probably much the same, Cant remember it being to much of an arse. I think I wound them round the cog and then clipped in the cables to the steel guides using brute force and ignorance. Doing it again I would probably spend the extra £12 and get a full reg.
  6. Thats got to be blowing smoke.. If its not leaking its either rebreathing it through the crankcase or it bypassing on the rings. When it was rebuilt did it have new rings? Who rebuilt it, somethings not right.
  7. From years of selling cars I have come to the belief that everyone is a time waster until they hand over the money. Unfortunately it must be 10/1 fo time wasters/serious buyers. Out of interest how much is yours up for as mine on very similar miles
  8. See I as tempted with a new style badge.. but plmbed for the factory style instead... not that its hard to change. Looks good like that too be fair. I can build an engine from component parts but the vinyl baffled me
  9. Went too cruise culture in Camarthan on Sunday, nice day. Just wondring who's black vrs was in the show area, looked really tidy. The mrs took lots of tips of things she wants doing to mine so cheers for that :/ But seriously, the bump strips off the doors looked good and im pretty tempted with black carpets as im a mechanic and white carpets suck. Tinted windows will be done for sure.
  10. Tried wrapping it first, but as I struggle wrapping Christmas presents it was completely unsuccessful lol. So just painted it instead. I wanted to wrap so I could return to standard easily, but end of the day grills are cheap.
  11. Been sorting some bits on bobs on the skoda, all mechanically sound now and fresh MOT so treated it to a black grill. Think it looks better than the chrome to be honest. Anyhow posting for inspiration too others if they are undecided.
  12. Mine was doing this, scuttle was ok but the seal under the pollen filter hosing had failed (had been moved by previous owner) so a wadge of tiger seal and its been bone dry since.
  13. If its popped off just order a new pipe and clip as the ears the clip goes round on the pipe are probably worn away.
