Hi guys my gearbox is not as smooth as it was when I bought the car a year ago. It’s a 2005 Octavia VRS 2.0 petrol. The gears feel a bit resistant now when changing through them. It’s like they are grinding metal if that makes sense? The clutch feels fine, it seems just the gearbox that’s the issue. Any idea what could be causing it? It’s worse when the car is cold.

Hi guys, I’m looking to get some wheel spacers on my 2005 Octavia VRS. She’s on standard 18inch VRS alloys. I I would like 15mm spacers on the rear and 10mm on the front. Has anybody got any experience of having them fitted and would you recommend a specific supplier?

This is the kit I am thinking of ordering for my mk2 VRS. Did you go ahead and get this ordered and fitted? How was/is it? -

Hard knocks speed shop in Little Chesterton (OX253PD) have a good reputation. He makes them custom for your car. They have a website with details on. Hope that's a help. -

I have this exact same problem from the rear off-side door area!!

Cheers for this. The light on the dash turned out to be a blown brake light so that was an easy fix! She's going in for a service next week, I've bought platinum plugs, new R8 coil packs and a k&n panel filter so she should come out of it much healthier. I've asked the garage to change the fuel filter too so all being well she'll run better after.

I recently used Autofinesse "iron out" followed by their "imperial" wheel cleaner and they came up lovely! Topped off with satin tyre gel it was the best my alloys had ever looked!

She looks really really good!

I have a black Octavia and am planning on getting mine done in black. Personally I like black bodywork with black alloys!

Hi guys, my 2005 Octavia TFSI VRS is noisy on idle at the moment. The rev gauge stays exactly as it should but under the bonnet seems much noisier than it used to be, I can hear it from inside the car. I also have a yellow light on the dash (looks like a lightbulb). Any ideas? She is driving fine but is well due a service which is going to be done very soon. Many Thanks

I'm considering a carbon clean out too. My local firm is called Terraclean and they want £126 to complete the job on my 2005 Octavia VRS, Does that sound reasonable? Would you say it is worth it?

What's the stopping power like with the Brembo disks and pads?

Have you had all the work done yet? If so, how is it? I have a 2006 TFSI too and the plan is to get a stage 2 superchip done with a miltek sports cat. I may get an Airtec intercooler too based on recommendation.
