  1. Could anyone with a 2014 2.0 TDI tell me why the expected “normal” running temperature should be? also does the needle move, once up to temperature? Many thanks
  2. Sounds good, would be interesting to see. The other point in response to further above, carrying bikes in a car in theory is the safe approach. Had direct experience of a team mate having nice bikes being removed from a rear rack and roof rack while stopped at Services. when travelling alone for distance carrying bikes inside the car is the only option.
  3. Racing isn’t just on roads I can assure you if that! But fiddling with seat heights before and after rides/races is a hassle, if you are serious cyclist you will get that. Yes I could go the large MPV route but I don’t want to do that again; was hoping for something estate size that would do this. with the popularity of cycling its surprising how few options there are for carrying a bike upright in the rear with front wheel removed. I can’t be the only person who has this requirement!
  4. With carbon posts and carbon frames the posts are dialled in and tightened with the right Nm etc. Dropping and removing before each race is just one more thing to get wrong! I have been through all the options again and again and so few cars offer this front wheel off fork stand option.
  5. Thanks all, doesn’t look like this work then 😞 in the picture the saddles are clearly dropped which is not a goer when you have a setup that is fine tuned on a road bike! so there does seem to be a lack of options on the user market for a bike carrying estate. the only car that appears to meet the mark is one built in Swindon for 3 years only!
  6. Yes. The estate. Many thanks
  7. Hi all, would anyone have the heights of the boot floor to ceiling when the seats are fully flat. looking to see if two road bikes, front wheels off will fit standing and secure to a fork mount. RIDC website is useful but doesn’t show height within the car, only the opening. many thanks
  8. Could I ask whether anyone has any photos of full size road bikes in their Yeti’s (front wheel) off etc. I have measured the space between boot and rear seat and it doesn’t seem long enough but am sure many of this forum carry bikes in this way. any examples would be extremely helpful. many thanks
  9. thanks again @e-Roottoot the car looks good, @75k, tyres new and all match! In terms of a test drive are there any tell tale signs of an issue lurking?
  10. But specifically @e-Roottootif the supplying dealer who serviced the car tool confirm they did 34H5 then that should be a good sign. With 34H5 carried out does that reduce rather remove the risk?
  11. @e-Roottoot many thanks, took that advice and the supplying dealer confirms that it was covered by the 34H5 campaign, so I suspect that is good news! So if that was done would that preclude any further gearbox concerns as long as standing servicing of other aspects of the car have been followed?
  12. How would I do this @e-Roottoot "There was a Service Campaign '34H5' started in 2017 on some DQ200 DSG 2013-2015, check if the Yeti was included in that and was it done. If it had Main Dealers servicing it should have been done if the Owner let them and it was one that was part of the campaign." Would it be in the service book or would Skoda hold this record?
  13. I am hoping to buy a 2015 TSI 7 speed DSG Yeti as a private sale, the car ticks all the boxes for me but I have come across the dreaded DSG issue, with advice from various places that the 7 speed VW group box is to be avoided. Before I make a costly mistake is there a list of checks that would be advised before I part with my money? Or would the view be to avoid, go with a manual or find a wet clutch version? The car I am looking at was main dealer serviced until three years old but since then its less clear.... Does the 7 speed box need something regularly done to maintain it? Many thanks
  14. Having switched from Silver to Business Grey and now to Moon White I have decided that the car (SE Technology spec) needs 18" to look best. However still unsure between which of the 18" options as both Silver Pegasus and Modus look good on the visualiser. Can anyone help me make a final call with some pictures of the estate in ideally Moon White and either set of alloys. I have to make a final decision before the order is locked so if anyone can help and inspire me as after three days looking at pictures I am still unsure what colour and wheel combo for the SE Tech looks best. Thank you.
