  1. The power is strong in you Most of this windscreens are toyotas, which are the most common vehicles. One of the guys on the links is willing to look for one locally. Things may be looking up ::::)))
  2. Sudan would be ideal, but the redirect takes me to a veryshady website
  3. Nope. Kenya had only one Skoda dealer, and the dealership was closed. The cheapest quote I have gotten for the windscreen is £900 from someone who is going to "mould" the glass. Seems a tad too expensive for that, yes? The market dynamics of Kenya are a bit different. Most of the time, you source for components and parts on your own and a mechanic does the installation/repair. So its common for most people here to ship spares from UK for VAG cars. Thus established logistics companies specialising in shipping from UK to Kenya.
  4. Actually Czech and India would have been the cheapest. Cant trust Czech sites for monetary transactions. India does not have a lot of online information in regards to skoda parts. I guess I need to search for official skoda dealers in both countries, and contact them. China is a no-no because of language barrier, of course. I prefer UK because there is buyer protection, and established shipping lines to Kenya
  5. I don't plan replacing the windscreen myself. That's kind of hard to do. I am in Kenya, and I think a total of 10 skoda yetis were sold locally. To make matters worse, the local dealership was closed. So am left to source for the windscreen in UK Where can I find contacts for UK windscreen suppliers? I have a shipping agency in the UK that can handle the logistics of shipping from UK to Kenya, but my googlefu has not yielded any information on where I can get a replacement OEM windscreen in UK
  6. From my experience with bearings, just get the oem one. Same as the one in use for the tiguan, common failing part after 70k kms. I think its the 4 bolt one, but mine is the 1.8tsi, there may be differences
  7. I need some help. I cracked my windscreen, a big nasty looking crack, and I cannot trace another windscreen online. It doesn't help a lot that I am in Kenya, but I am desperate enough to pay whatever price for the glass. I have already lost about £100 in bribes to police officers. The part number is 5L0845011. If anyone can help me track the OEM glass, I would be eternally grateful. Also, how to pack the glass for international transport?
  8. Hi all, After a lot of time troubleshooting, and a lot of money spent, I have two issues that will not clear. 1. My ABS rear left sensor is wonky. At first, I changed the sensor, and then the bearing, but the error remains. I put it on VCDS blocks, and on while the vehicle is stationary, the sensor is reading that the vehicle is moving. VCDS shows the following errors: 1 Faults Found: 03841 - RPM Sensor Rear Left: Incorrect Signal 000 - - 2. The Aux coolant fuse. I have been putting a 15A fuse in the engine bay fuse box location f23, the error clears, but after a while, the fuse burns out. I am afraid of putting anything bigger than that, incase I burn out my electronics. VCDS error as below 006439 - Relay for Aux Coolant Pump (J496) P1927 - 000 - Open Circuit
  9. Simply because my current wheel does not have the steering controls. Plus the new wheel looks sliiiiick
  10. Exactly. The top is what I have, the bottom is what I want to have
  11. Thanks Fred. Has anyone successfully done it? I would be interested to try, I do have Vcds at home
  12. Not a paddle shift. What I mean is completely replacing the steering wheel with that of the newer yeti model, the current model. I have the first generation model, and what I want to do is replace the steering wheel
  13. Hi all, I am new to the yeti after owning several vag cars. I have a 2011 yeti, and wanted to find out if its possible to do a steering wheel swap and get the gen2 steering?
