  1. I have the 1.2 TSI dsg and I'm the same, I pretty much leave it in D for gears 1,2, maybe 3 then most the time go manual 3/4567 unless I'm being lazy and just leave it in D. I hardly ever use S as if I want to go fast I just use manual. And if you floor it in D it still redlines. I put it in N or P if I have a long wait at traffic lights to stop my foot aching, and for rear lights.
  2. They definitely get better after a few thousand miles. Mine is on 17 thousand now and getting the best fuel economy so far I think. They aren't great for economy in heavy traffic but very good on faster flowing roads.
  3. Hey I only have the speed limit on my se, you can over ride it if you put your foot down so it kicksdown, but if you just drive normally it won't go over unless you come to a steep down hill.
  4. It is pretty tight on the driver's side with 2 kids seats and 2 6yr olds in back but it's ok just for me and I'm 6ft, but I usually just put my daughter in the passenger side rear when she is on her own most of the time so it's fine. If you have long legs or like the seat way back it would be a problem.
  5. I got 58mpg on a trip the other day, mostly 50mph roads. It's definitely best for fuel at those speeds. Averaging about 45mpg now, I think it's got a little better recently, maybe I'm just getting better driving it.
  6. Around town im getting 30-40 depending on traffic but out of town it's about 50ish.
  7. Mine are the same, I noticed a few weeks ago l. My car is under a year old. Maybe salt damage?
  8. If I have to turn right I sit there with the brake gently pressed to keep engine running with my dsg, if I stop in a que I put it in park so I don't have to keep my foot on the brake, but I wish it would stay off in neutral.
  9. My old Honda used to have a notchy first gear just got used to it in the end, try putting the clutch up and down again rather than jamming it in.
  10. Hello there, I have a fabia dsg mk 3, had it for about a year loving it so far, wish it was a little better on fuel around town, but I've found the way I drive it makes a huge difference, much more so than my previous car a Honda jazz, which I also loved. Love the power though of my fabia.
