  1. If you can do a mondeo a octavia will be a walk in the park. Recommend taking the offside gearbox flange out (6mm allen key, makes the box easier to lift out) the box is rather heavy aswell so you will more than likely need a hand.
  2. Usually if the clutch is self adjusting it requires the special tool. It should say on the box whether the tools needed. As for the slave no special tool required its just 3x 9mm bolts
  3. Luk clutches have a red warning sticker on the box warning you that you need the sac tool, Sachs dont. I always check the inside of the clutch cover and you will see a spring and a part of the mechanism. It may be worth asking the supplier if its self adjusting. There could be a good chance it isnt. Thats what the tool looks like to compress and line up the clutch while you tighten the bolts.
  4. Make sure if its a self adjusting clutch being fitted that they use the correct tool to fit the clutch
  5. That gearbox takes 2.0l of oil. Autodata says fill it through the level plug then start car on ramp in gear for 2 minutes then check oil again. I usually pump oil through the reverse light switch till it comes out the level plug. That way you fit 2 litres in with out having to re-check. Ive always used 75w/90 semi synthetic in manual gearboxes and never had a problem.
  6. Common fault. The input shaft needs shimming up behind the black cap in the top case
  7. Has anyone had their resonator deleted? I've been quoted 125 all in at my local powerflow branch. I was wondering has anyone had it done and has it made much difference?
  8. The Clutch pressure plate 13 Nm M7=20 Nm. For a luk clutch you will need a self adjusting clutch tool to align and set the clutch cover
  9. Hi everyone,my names james and after years of owning various vectras ive now bought my first skoda! Always had a soft spot for a vrs of any sort. Its a 2008 2.0tfsi hatch in blue. I bloody love it!
