  1. Didn't think about checking the average speed/mpg - that's good advice for the future. When I first turned on the ignition the radio was blasting out and the drive mode had been changed to Sport. I always tell them not to wash the car but I guess they may need to drive it occasionally to make sure there are no issues? There's a couple of short sections of dual carriageway about a quarter of a mile from the dealership, my guess it was driven along there. That leads to an industrial estate with a number of other dealers (they may also have other premises there). I suspect that's where it was taken.
  2. I'd be interested to hear what people think of this. It's what happened when I took my car in to the garage last week to have some work done under the warranty. They spot the Dashcam and put tape over the lens so that you can't see anything, but you can still hear what's going on (unfortunately the audio quality is poor so you may need to turn up the sound!) They take the car for a drive and seem to be driving it very hard. Should I be cross? http://youtu.be/mo_05_Z_D-A
  3. I had this dilemma before I ordered mine. The 245 does seem pretty good value - you get quite a lot of extra kit for not much more cash. However, I was worried that the ride of the 245 would be too firm for me - you've got to have the 19 inch wheels and it's got a firmer suspension set up I believe. At the time there were no 245s in the country so I couldn't take a test drive to confirm that though. In the end I ordered the standard vRS and spent the extra on the options that I really wanted. My advice would be to try both if you can...
  4. Polished Bliss are offering 10% discount on all orders over £75 until 1st November.
  5. Yeah, picked it up at the weekend. I've posted one or two in other threads but here it is. I'll take some better ones when I get the chance. Meteor Grey is awesome - definitely picked the right colour
  6. Electric seats are standard on the 245, but on the 230 and diesel you've got to spec alcantara AND electric seats; if you just tick the alcantara box they'll still have manual adjustments. By the time you've done that (and added folding mirrors and heated seats which are mandatory) you will have spent circa £1800 so might as well order a 245 instead!
  7. I'm happy with the standard ones. To me the alcantara wasn't worth the extra. Must admit that I haven't yet found a driving position that feels completely comfortable but I've only had it a few days so I think that's just down to getting the adjustments right. In any case, I don't think the alcantara seats are physically different, it's just a different fabric.
  8. Looks like SC03OTT beat me to it, but here are mine.
  9. I've got the standard ones in mine. Haven't got any pics yet, will take one unless anyone else does so first. They look very similar to the alcantara ones, just a different fabric. IMO they're a big improvement over the pre-FL and the main reason I bought new rather than a late pre-FL. To me, I didn't think the extra cost of the alcantara was worth it - there were other options I wanted much more.
  10. This turned up at the weekend. My only previous experience of Skoda was this: I think it is fair to say that they've made a few improvements in the new one!
  11. I've discovered today that this is not entirely accurate. It can actually be ordered up to 2 days before the car is registered. Phone conversation between dealer and myself earlier: me: Just checking everything is still OK for me to collect car tomorrow? dealer: yes me: Can I check that you added the extended warranty to the order as I requested a few week's back? dealer: errrrr.....I'll get back to you. dealer (later): I'm afraid you'll have to wait till Saturday to collect if you want the extended warranty.
  12. It normally takes 3-4 weeks from build date so end October is possible but it could be into early November.
  13. Can someone clarify for me please - is this the Media Holder that comes as part of the Simply Clever pack?
  14. OK thanks. I suspect they must be hidden somewhere near the fog lights. Will find out when I get it...
  15. When I ordered my Vrs (which I'll be picking up this week) I spec'd front and rear parking sensors. From the pictures I've got I can only see two sensors in the front bumper, which are near the number plate. I can't see any near the corners (which tend to be more useful in my experience of them in other cars). Is that all you get? I was expecting four at the front and four at the rear.
