  1. Should have posted here last February when I acquired the car but better late than never I suppose. I have been a member of BRISKODA since 2017 when I bought a Superb estate but after almost 90k miles, decided in late 2024 to trade it in for a Kodiaq once I found a suitable one. Finally found a 22 plate L&K TDI 200 DSG 4x4 in grey with 27.5k on the clock which was delivered to me on Feb 7th 2025. I tarted it up a bit putting all season tyres on it, fancy (legal) number plates, a carbon rear sill protector, a load space protector, front and rear dash cams and a towbar. I also took my DTUK pedalbox out of the Superb, got it updated and fitted it to the Kodiaq. Have since put just over 7K miles on the car and have been very happy. Following an advisory on my MOT, I had to have the rear brake pads and discs replaced just yesterday for just over £200 which I didn't think was a bad price. I find the Kodiaq more comfortable than the Superb and have found it to be a more stable towcar than the Superb was. Getting in and out of it is easier too. I did foolishly think that being an L&K model it would have all the 'extras' the Superb had such as rear aircon and heated rear seats but it doesn't - they had obviously become extra cost extras by 2022. Mind you, it does have a heated steering wheel and 'smart' led headlights that I can leave on main beam because they adjust so as not to dazzle oncoming drivers. The adaptive cruise control with traffic sign recognition is also pretty nifty - don't know where it gets its information from but it slows the car automatically for bends and roundabouts which is all a bit spooky and not a feature I would ever entrust my life to but it does seem to work quite well most of the time.
  2. I agree with you regarding the suspension though my Superb had 19 inch wheels and low profile tyres which didn’t help comfort wise so I’ve not really noticed a lot of difference. The Kodiaq does seem ‘stiffer’ though and corners well for an SUV
  3. I haven’t really noticed any difference so I guess they must be very similar. Being an auto, my left foot lives on the footrest and as I use the cruise control an awful lot, my right foot is on the flat on the floor a lot of the time. Even on the pedals, it’s normally at the ‘correct’ angle relative to my leg so you should be ok
  4. Decided in February after 8 years and almost 90k miles of Superb ownership it was time for a change. Found myself a 22 plate 2.0 TDI L&K Kodiaq in Grey with just under 28k miles on the clock. 8 months on and I’m extremely happy with it. Me and my wife find it more comfortable than the Superb and as we’re both getting a bit long in the tooth it’s certainly easier to get in and out of it. It’s very quiet, quick when you want it to be and more economical than the Superb. I used it for the first time at night last month and those led headlights are fantastic. Forgot to dip them at one point and couldn’t work out why I wasn’t getting flashed until I realised the lights were adjusting themselves to not dazzle oncoming traffic - didn’t bother dipping them after that! Couple of minor irritations - drive mode always resets to ‘drive’ when ignition turned off so have given up selecting ‘eco’ and although the acc and traffic sign recognition system works well on the whole, it does have a habit of slowing or braking the car momentarily when it shouldn’t. Other than that, it’s a brilliant car. Oh, I forgot to mention - it’s also a great tow car.
  5. Should have posted this back in March when I traded in my 2016 (66 plate) 90k mile Superb after 8 years of almost trouble-free motoring. Have stayed with the Brand though. Am now the very happy owner of a 22 plate L&K 2.0 TDI Kodak. The Superb was good but I’m finding the Kodiak even better - it’s more comfortable, more economical and an altogether better tow car.
  6. I had an empty spider skin in one of the tail lights of my Superb. It was there when I bought the car in April 2017 and was still there when I part-ex’d it in Feb this year. The car was only 5 months old when I got it so maybe the spider got in the light while the light was being made, shed its skin and made good its escape before the light was finally sealed 🤣🤣
  7. Yep, they’ve been told. They actually refunded me £6.96 😳🤷
  8. Had a towbar fitted on Monday and now waving my foot under the car doesn’t open the boot. It was working before the towbar was fitted and now it isn’t. The towbar frame replaces a large crash beam (which is now in my back garden) and I’m wondering if the towbar frame is either obstructing the sensor or the sensor has been moved and not refitted correctly. Does anybody know what the sensor looks like and where it should be? Anybody got any pictures of it?
  9. Has anybody fitted a rear bumper protector to their Kodiaq? If so, where did you get it from? Looking at the car, only a small strip of the top of the bumper is visible beyond the plastic trim so it’s not as though my step-daughter’s great clumsy stupid springer spaniel can land on it while jumping into the boot so I’m wondering if one is necessary (as it was on my old superb) . Any thoughts anybody? However, I do have one on order from here: https://emea01.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.carnoisseur.com%2Fproducts%2Fdetails%2Frgm-rearguard-to-fit-skoda-kodiaq-rbp1391&data=05%7C02%7C%7C144d94b18950408cfe3208dd4f617f41%7C84df9e7fe9f640afb435aaaaaaaaaaaa%7C1%7C0%7C638754002333992300%7CUnknown%7CTWFpbGZsb3d8eyJFbXB0eU1hcGkiOnRydWUsIlYiOiIwLjAuMDAwMCIsIlAiOiJXaW4zMiIsIkFOIjoiTWFpbCIsIldUIjoyfQ%3D%3D%7C0%7C%7C%7C&sdata=m67ZER%2Fi8J533C9x9iSDxVKW4BjiEsEiP6JdCJcXfNU%3D&reserved=0
  10. Found a 22 plate Kodiaq 2.0 200ps diesel L&K in grey on the HeyCar website. Haven’t bought a car via ‘distance buying’ before so took a while making up my mind but finally took the plunge and bought it. Traded in my 66 plate Superb estate. The whole process went smoothly though there was no HeyCar involvement at all - it was all done through the dealer. The Kodiaq is great. It’s nice to be getting up into a car again and much less of a struggle climbing out of it than the Superb had become (I’m getting on a bit 🤣). Have had a towbar fitted ready for our first caravan outing of the year in March. Getting some all-season tyres on it today so it’s just about kitted-out as I want it. Just got to get my old head around all the tech though am already loving the adaptive cruise control.
  11. All sounds very complicated. Hope you can find what you’re looking for
  12. The Kodiaq arrived Monday afternoon and apart from the tyres, I'm delighted with it. Haven't had the chance to drive it much yet apart from a quick trip to get fuel and a visit to a local pub for an excellent meal to celebrate my wife's birthday and our wedding anniversary (about 10 miles tops!). I've installed my DTUK pedalbox that was in my old Superb and will get to 'test' that tomorrow. Spent ages this morning trying to get my user profile loaded but no joy. Skoda Connect email and password are correct but I just keep getting an 'Unable to load profile' message so have given up for now.
  13. Pretty thin on the ground over here too. Plenty of TSI versions and TDI 150s available but I want the power for towing our caravan. I guess people don’t buy the TDI 190s/200s because of the extra road tax (£190 + £410 ‘levy’) 😢
  14. After nearly 8 years of largely troubled-free motoring in my Superb, the time has come for a change. I have purchased a 22 reg 4x4 L&K 2.0 TDI Kodiaq through HeyCar. Am expecting delivery on Monday afternoon. Have part-ex’d the Superb for what I think was a pretty good price. Can’t wait to get behind the wheel on the ‘new’ beast. First thing I will do is fit my DTUK Pedalbox to it as I would imagine that the Kodiaq’s throttle response will be as sluggish as the Superb’s was. Have booked it in for a towbar fit on the 17th so will be all ready to go when the caravanning season starts!
  15. They can’t be that bad. The car has done almost 90k miles since I bought it in 2017 and it’s towed our caravan around 15k miles in that time and this is the first time it has suffered a broken spring
  16. Can’t see a broken spring having any bearing on the refuelling problem, especially as the first time I experienced that issue was in Wales last year and the spring certainly wasn’t broken then.
  17. Car went into garage this morning and they’ve just called me saying they easily found the source of the clunk - the driver’s side rear coil spring has broken 😳. So I’ve driven over 1500 miles, at least 1000 of those towing our caravan, with a broken coil spring and not noticed any problems apart from the odd clunk 🤷
  18. No, it started doing it at the beginning of June, just after I had had the gearbox oil and Haldex unit (it’s a 4x4) oil changed. It does it regardless of whether the caravan is attached or not. I can’t get it to ‘clank’ by rocking the car or by bouncing it manually and it doesn’t do it over every speed bump or pothole
  19. No, the caravan hasn’t been attached on any of the occasions when this has happened
  20. Thete is an anti-syphon system I believe as well as a vent. Can’t find any details though that would give me a chance to work out what might be happening
  21. Got to Winchester camp site late last night due to m275 closure so didn’t attempt to refuel until this morning and to our great relief, I filled the tank without any problems. I’m booking the car into a garage when I get home to see if they can find the mysterious clunk my car has developed from somewhere at the back. Can’t make it do it bouncing it or rocking it but as soon as I go over a pothole or speed bump ‘clunk’. I’ll ask them if they can shed some light on the mystery refuelling problem
  22. I didn’t at the time. I have since but will not be attempting to refuel until we get to Winchester tomorrow evening. Mind you, I’d driven about 200 miles through France and the first and last. 10 miles or so we bounced over dozens of the speed bumps the French have fallen in love with so you’d think it had had more than enough rocking about to clear the filler tube
  23. No, nothing like that. Seems very odd that this has only happened to me. Must be 10s of thousands Superbs out there (though I realise that far fewer owners subscribe to this site) so you’d think at least one other owner had had a similar experience
  24. Well, here we are nearly a year on and it’s gone and done it to me again 🤬. Filled up at a Super U near Coulon in France on Tuesday. Drove up to St Malo yesterday with caravan in tow and have just been to fill up today but can’t. The fuel gauge shows just under half a tank so expected to get about 40 litres in but the diesel nozzle clicked off almost straight away. Tried to pump it in slowly but the fuel just came out of the filler neck so looks as though the pipe between the tank and filling point is full of fuel again. What on earth is stopping it going into the tank?
  25. Possible but I did try a 2nd pump albeit at the same station with the same result. Also, the guy i persuaded to look at it in a nearby garage said the pipe between the filling point and the tank was full of fuel.
