  1. Nope, still no better. My phone is getting on a bit now, I'll try it on my wife's newer one. Cheers, Jamie
  2. Thanks Stu, I'll give that a go. Cheers, Jamie
  3. I've been using Android Auto since getting our 03FL, it works brilliantly with Google Maps etc. (oh, for a laugh get someone to send a message full of emojis on WhatsApp etc, well made me laugh anyways!) The thing is is takes ages, a good 45 seconds, for SmartLink to burst into life. Just me, or are all units the same? Cheers, Jamie
  4. I realised this morning that the car didn't come with the handy L-shaped brackets used to secure boxes in the boot. I saw them in a pre-FL test drive car, are they still standard issue? Cheers, Jamie
  5. Humph... I've just tried to import the PoI list I set up, I'm connected to my mobile hotspot and I've tried my home WiFi. I'm getting an "Online service is currently unavailable" message. Cheers, Jamie
  6. Well that was straightforward enough! I created a route on the website, went to the car with my phone, turned in the WiFi hotspot and the route automagicly downloaded. Simply cleaver! Cheers, Jamie
  7. On seeing VW have changed their site, I looked at the Connect website; sure enough it looks like Skoda have fixed the PoI function on Skoda Connect. I've successfully added a PoI file and given it an icon (200px max.) but have yet to download it in the car. Watch this space! Cheers, Jamie
  8. Great stuff, cheers Batvan! There always seems to be marks on the bottom on the door left by feet as people get out of my cars! Cheers, Jamie
  9. Ahh, sorry missed that! Hope it works for you! Cheers, Jamie
  10. Took delivery of our new Octy last week and want to keep on top of cleaning. What do people use to clear those annoying scuffs on the bottom of the door, keep the infotainment screen clear of finger marks, etc.? Would a pack of good ol' baby wipes do the trick, they seam to be great for most cleaning jobs?!? Cheers, Jamie
  11. Should be supplied by the dealer, when we picked ours up the sales rep went and got the DVD case and popped it in the slot in the car. Ask the dealer? Cheers, Jamie
  12. I've been sticking mine in the recess too, though thought the phone holder would be useful when a passenger is in the front too. I've gone and ordered one! Cheers, Jamie
  13. So did ours :-( Dealer wants £6.71 for the new one... Cheers, Jamie
  14. Picked ours up this afternoon! First impressions are that the car is a lot quieter that the oil burning Cee'd. I've not opened it up as yet, I did see mention of running the engine in in the manual. Amundsen unit is great, had a quick play with Android Auto which works well. Looking forward to more of a drive on Sunday :-) Cheers, Jamie
  15. I am looking forward to having bog standard cruise control after using a colleagues' car with it in the past, it's a step up from nothing at all! Cheers, Jamie
  16. We're picking up our car tomorrow, it seams every other post on here is extolling the virtues of ACC- I'm thinking I cocked up big time not spec'ing it Cheers, Jamie
  17. It was at my request, I'll be taking the car over to Germany & Belgium for a crimbo beer buying trip this year and will be camping in France next year. Cheers, Jamie
  18. I went to sign the finance paperwork on Friday and got to see ours in the car park. Slightly worrying was the sight of three 'technicians' checking something in the dash area when I came to leave. They assured me nothing was wrong with our car and they were "compairing it with another car, we've not seen a lot of these."! Going to pick it up next Friday.
  19. Had an update from my dealer this afternoon, car is built and en route to the port. Looking good for getting it in time for me and t'wife to take the bikes down to RideLondon on the 29th. Cheers, Jamie
  20. I have read a couple of comments on here that stated that, but the manual (for the pre-FL model) made no reference to it! Cheers, Jamie
  21. Answering my own question! On looking through the manual, searching 'Tourist Mode' didn't work bit there is reference to 'Travel Mode'. Page 69: "The LED headlights can be adjusted by switching on Travel mode in Infotainment in the menu  /  →  → Light. In this mode, there is no automatic adjustment of the light beam in front of the vehicle." Cheers, Jamie
  22. We're planning a trip to Europe with the new car later in the year; are the LED headlights of the FL SE L adjustable, i.e. tourist mode, like the xenons? Cheers, Jamie
  23. I've seen a few FL models on the road now and I honestly don't know what all the fuss is about with the new front lights, the car looks great to me. It looks like it means business, almost angry! The one I saw in town in white look fantastic (though I couldn't be arsed keeping it clean)! 5 weeks and counting till I pick up ours... Cheers, Jamie
  24. I've had my build date confirmed this week, 8 weeks since ordering. The provisional build week was week 35, coming down to 26 a couple of weeks ago, until being confirmed this week. Cheers, Jamie
