  1. I’m thinking of selling mine if you’re still looking? It’s a 2000 with complete Truckman hard top. It’s located & registered in Guernsey but is ex-U.K. so shouldn’t have to pay VAT on import. It’s a little scruffy but runs and is reliable.
  2. Was it you following me in mine up towards the airport 4-5 weeks ago?

  4. I sussed this out not long after posting the thread. It seems my post got lost in the ether... Rich, the seat bulkhead was seized/jammed/not for moving. I tried a gradual application of brute force and an equivalent short sharp shove, but it was worries I'd damage the bulkhead if I went entirely further. I solved it be pulling the rear seat pad forwards to move the rod that works the mechanism directly. It's the lower one. Needs a little force, but it released the left latch, the one that had engaged properly. That gave the seat back/bulkhead full free movement again. I'll be lubricating the latches an making sure it's all working properly with no slack. In the short term I'll be double checking the mechanisms before locking the seats back! Hope this helps someone else in the future.
  5. Help! The rear seats on my fun are jammed open. The mechanism engaged on one side but not the other. It stayed closed and now neither side will budge. The release handle doesn't release or move anything on either side. Is this a common issuse? Have others solved it before? I can chuck the hard top on for now but obviously wish to fix it ASAP. Thanks KevSunshine Top image jammed side, lower engaged.
  6. Good shout on the split mirror. Might see if I can source a replacement glass to suit. The glass moves with the cable adjust. Maybe retro fitting electric mirrors might help? I can get around it by adjusting driving style/doing 'the lean', but the more I can do to make it safer the better. fitting a more suitable mirror gets it better faster than changing 17 years of driving habit. Not right, but safer, faster = better.
  7. I can adjust mirrors just fine thanks, been doing it for quite some time. Sometimes a problem falls outside of the prescribed solution or accepted fixes in a standard situation. I was wondering if my mirrors were: a) standard damaged c) fixed/bodged badly d) had gained sentience, gone evil and were plotting my demise via a traffic 'accident' that would very much be my fault. e) just a crap design and lots of Felicia owners just swap them for Polo GTI ones; for example. Kev
  8. Event with full adjustment I can mostly see truckman and have to lean over the gearstick to see overtaking/passing motorway traffic. Just didn't know if all Felicias did this or maybe if my my mirror was faulty/damaged internally/bodged.
  9. Hi Just finding out the little niggles and oddities of living with a new ride. My Fun has a lethal blind spot in the O/S wing mirror, had a couple of close calls already! Got some stick-on convex mirrors in the short term but would rather sort it more subtly. I've pulled the mirror off to see if there was a 'trim' option but to no avail. Has anyone else experienced this? How have you resolved it? Is it a case of fitting aftermarket mirrors? Thanks
  10. Bought my Fun on Sunday. X817 HLL, 2000, 65,500mi Scruffy but solid, has had rear arches rebuilt by a welder/mechanic & 'triple' undercoated. Came with a TruckMan top but no rear glass. Currently using some ply and iron-mongery from Wickes to keep the rain and scumbags out. Bought from Datchford and previously owned by 'Auto Body Centre - Accident Repair Specialists' as the paint fading on the bonnet testifies. I'm about to export it Guernsey, with myself, my stuff and my cat, and re-register it there. It'll have a proper number plate, with just numbers and be the far more bad-ass looking silver on black that aren't allowed in the UK. New reg will be posted when assigned. KevSunshine
  11. Hi I'm a Fun n00b too. Those wheels really suit it. Somehow they seem to make it less 'yellow', even though there is more yellow. Maybe it's just the stance and attitude offsetting the flying banana vibe? Tops are hard to find, as I have found. There is a breakers in eastern Europe with one for sale. Other than that this wreck has a top and 'allegedly' 12,000mi and the guy dropped the price to £350 as soon as I asked just about the hood. The arches are completely gone and it'll need trailering away and some serious welding. I was gonna buy it, strip it for spares (could do with bumpers and a steering wheel) and sellable parts then scrap it from where it stood. I don't have the time now and the only scrappy I tried doesn't have a service partner in Powys Wales...
  12. Just bought my first Skoda, a 2000 Felicia Fun! Scruffy but solid with plenty of potential for improvement! Lovely 200mi drive home to get used to her too. Current ambition is to tidy it up and get it logo'd up for my filmmaking business. I can share this vision with you via the magic of Photoshop! Thinking min-ilites or banded steels for the wheels The Truckman top it came with is missing it's glass. They seem to be like hens teeth. I've found another Fun going cheap-ish (£350) it's undriveable with ruined rear arches. I'm only really after the top, tailgate handle and steering wheel. Anyone else want to come in on it for parts or for hardcore restoration? If not I'm considering taking what I want and scrapping the rest, if i get a good price for it. I realise this is sacrilege and wouldn't normally condone such actions but I'm moving to Guernsey in a week and can't be dealing with a drawn out deal. I can offer my glassless top into the deal if it helps? I'd love to see it live and keeps the numbers on the roads but it'll need time, money and some skills to get it there.
  13. Thanks ms for the heads up. I'm prepared to build a custom one if needs be. Looking forward at a few scrapper options at the moment.
  14. Been getting merry in Photoshop, got some plans already. Although clear rear lenses seem to be wishful thinking...
  15. Hi JED Thanks for the welcome. I posted a thread in the Felicia section looking for help sourcing a rear window for a truckman back. Was this the right place? Still getting a feel for the community. Thanks
  16. Hi Where can one find a replacement rear window for a Felicia Fun Truckman top? Looking at buying one but it's missing. Thanks
  17. Hi Looking at buying my first Skoda, a Felicia Fun. I've loved these things for a long time and finally can (almost) justify one. Hurrah! I'm a hot rod enthusiast at heart but have never had the space of money to do anything major, so have had to satisfy the urge with maintaining what I've got and doing minor mods and upgrades. Currently own too many cars, Bora TDi, Mazda Demio and Daihatsu Charade. An impeding change in personal circumstances will thin the herd out slightly. I'm an enthusiastic amateur mechanic and tinkerer who loves to learn along the way. I'm a filmmaker running my own business (houseofsunshine.co.uk) with an AV/Media/Broadcast tech background. First Car = Mk 2 Fiesta Favoutire car show = Roadkill Favourite band = The Wildhearts/Ginger Dream car(s) = BMW i8, V8 Swapped Scimitar GTE, VRS engined Felicia Fun on air ride, pro-touring style '68 Dodge Charger Pint = Hobgoblin
