  1. Hi Guys I made a post on here a while ago about my Columbus that died an intermittent death. Every so often the sound would work but after a while it was completely dead. So, I took my car to a specialist yesterday who informed me that in order to revive it I would have to pay about £2,500 for the dead bit that sits in the glove box. Obviously I told this guy no as I'd rather buy a new car than spend that amount of money on a stereo. My question is, does that seem like a legitimate request to pay that much to replace the bit in the glove box? If it is, are there any alternatives that you guys have come across that are more reasonable?
  2. Hi guys I took my car to Skoda for a service last weekend and they gave me a nice list back of the things that need doing/replacing one of which was £75 to replace the wipers . Though one of the other items on the list are the brakes. The mechanic there said that one of the front discs was "lipped". Can anyone tell me what that means? Also, they wanted to charge £645 for a set of new front discs and pads. Is that normal?
  3. Yeah, that's the first thing I tried. I've also replaced the fuse too but still isn't right.
  4. Hi guys I have a really odd issue with my Columbus head unit. If I start the car between 7am-10am the audio will work perfectly until you turn off the ignition, starting the car again means that the sound does not work though the head unit functions as normal. If the car is started after 10am, no sound. If I turn the engine off and turn it back on, no sound. Sometimes after 45minutes of driving the sound will burst into life and it will work normally. There are no snaps, crackles or pops from the speakers. All the wiring appears to be connected properly. Has anyone else experienced anything similar or knows how I go about troubleshooting this thing?
