  1. Eventually got this sorted - for anyone this happens to the bracket that holds the retainer clip and closed with all the moving around. Try lift it slights by sliding a nail or wire through the bracket and pull gently up with pliers to widen the gap slightly.
  2. This is what caused my engine to give way, oil pressure dropped but no error lights and didn't notice a drop in performance, then the rattle kicked in and it was done.
  3. I'm embarrassed asking this question but has anyone any tips on how to clip in the H1 retainer clips at the hinged end? I replaced headlights in my car and accidentally popped out the hinged side of the bulb retainer clip and for the life of me, I can't seem to navigate it back into place? Thanks :-)
  4. Yeah we fail NCT here if there's a light so I zapped it in the test centre car park. I would like it fixed too. My car has a whine that I thought was an aging turbo but now I'm beginning to think there could also be an air leak somewhere. Keep me posted on how it goes for you.
  5. I cleaned my EGR and the MAF, light continues to reappear especially when the engine is cold and driving at low speeds. Any long term downside to leaving it this way?
  6. I'm in a similar boat - two years with a police-siren turbo. I do mostly long distance driving but I really do worry about it when I'm nipping around in short bursts. Think I should replace now? I'm planning on getting rid of the car in 18 months though.
  7. Hi All, My previous driver window switches had become corroded, I initially cleaned them to get them back to life but over time the damage went beyond repair. I purchased replacement part: 1Z0959858B. Upon fitting the part the switches were not working, what I did notice is that the window-locking button in the middle of the panel illuminates, and becomes brighter when you lift/press one of the window switches, and becomes brighter further when you go to the one touch raise/drop. From what I read they don't require coding. Would be grateful for any advice on this :-) Thanks
  8. Thanks for the advice - this error has been bugging me but my EGR is awkward to remove so I cleaned it and reset. It all seems to be working but fault still exists. I'll look at the MAF later and see how that goes. Thanks for the advice.
