  1. Skoda, the Mladá Boleslav-based Czech automaker, has digitally revealed the new top variant of the Kodiaq SUV ahead of its public premiere at the International Motor Show 2018 in Geneva. Being christened as Skoda Kodiaq L&K, it is named after the company's founders Laurin and Klement. The L&K variant boasts of individual design and extensive comfort features, while introducing a new petrol engine. Volkswagen Group company, Skoda Auto registered a sales growth of 30 percent, compared to the previous year, selling 17,438 units in 2017, driven by the latest launch, the Kodiaq SUV, along with the launch of refreshed versions of its popular sedans launched in 2017.   3. Skoda is planning to recall the 2009-10 produced premium sedans, Skoda Laura to India. It has issued a recall for the small fraction of the model, which comprise of 663 units. Under the recall, the sedan receives a software update for the ABS/ESC control unit of the braking system to provide safer riding experience for the rider. Skoda Auto India has introduced the second-generation of the Skoda Octavia as the Skoda Laura in 2005, which received a major update in 2009 and was discontinued in 2013 in the Indian market. Now, with the software update, it is going to make a comeback in the country. Under the service action alerts, the said update has been first showcased at the Skoda India’s website and now Skoda has also informed that it will conduct service campaign for the software update in the Laura range models.   4. koda Rapid Monte Carlo has been re-introduced as Rapid Edition X in India. Soon after its launch in August this year, its sales were halted in the country due to a trademark dispute with the Monte Carlo Fashions, a Punjab-based apparel company. Earlier, the local court of Punjab passed a notice to stop the sales of the new sedan in India. The re-launched product seems to have carried forward all the specs and features from the previously launched model, apart from the nameplate. It is now available for sales in the country and the deliveries of the new sedan are expected to commence soon. The India-bound Skoda Rapid Edition X flaunts the same red shade at the exterior, while the cabin is all-black and finely finished with good quality materials. Upfront, the car features an aggressive front grille finished in the black shade, newly designed headlamps, and a blacked-out roof. It sports dual-tone 16-inch alloy wheels, which add spark to the fresh look of the sedan. The all-black interior comes with aluminum scuff plates and flaunts a faux-carbon fiber finished dashboard which offers a touchscreen infotainment system. Moreover, the leather-wrapped steering wheel comes with a red stitch, which adds to its sportiness. The Indian-spec special edition model offers two engine options - petrol and diesel. The petrol variant is powered by a 1.6-litre engine that delivers a maximum power output of 103 bhp against a peak torque of 153 Nm. On the other hand, the diesel version will derive its power from a 1.5-litre engine which produces a maximum power output of 109 bhp and a peak torque of 250 Nm. While the transmission duties of both the variants are taken care by a standard 5-speed manual gearbox, the petrol version comes with an option of 6-speed automatic gearbox and the diesel unit offers an optional 7-speed DSG gearbox. The price of the Rapid Edition X starts from Rs. 10.75 lakh (ex-showroom) and is most likely to compete with the cars of the C-segment sedan in India, which includes Honda City, Volkswagen Vento, Maruti Ciaz and Hyundai Verna.
  5. Skoda is all set to launch the Kodiaq SUV on October 4 in India. The new Skoda Kodiaq SUV will be offered in both 5 and 7-seating configuration. The car will pounce against the likes of the Toyota Fortuner, Ford Endeavour and Mitsubishi Pajero Sport. It is based on the Volkswagen Group's MQB architecture that also underpins the Volkswagen Tiguan. Speaking of the exterior, the Kodiaq will come with projector headlamps with LED lights and split LED tail lamps, blackened front and rear bumper section, panoramic sunroof, body-coloured roof rails, and side body cladding. There is extensive use of chrome, especially to the front grille and window panels on the car. The SUV will get a host of comfort and convenience features that will include dual-zone automatic climate control, engine start/stop button electric tailgate and cruise control, electrically adjustable driver seat, six airbags, ABS (Antilock Braking System) with EBD (Electronic Brakeforce Distribution).   6. Skoda has also showcased the new refreshed Rapid in its sporty Monte Carlo version at the 2017 Geneva International Motor Show. Skoda will be intruding the Rapid Monte Carlo trim in the Indian market within 2017.
