  1. Hi all, Thanks for all the comments, the problem was the swirlflaps, I bought and fitted a BKD ally manifold which has sorted the problem. Cheers, Rob
  2. Hi all, what did you do with the vacuum pipe which is on the actuator that controls the flaps? Cheers Rob
  3. Thanks Gents, me too! Maybe one of you may help, to regen the DPF does the car have to be out of limp mode and the have engine management light off? Cheers, Rob
  4. Afternoon all, My name is Rob I'm 23 and I currently drive a Silver Octy Vrs TDI. I'm currently having DPF problems with the beast, hopefully this forum can resolve this bane of my life.
  5. Good afternoon all, Hopefully Briskoda can come to my rescue as I've been having problems with my DPF recently. Sods law has hit me right in-between my eyes, the night before I was meant to drive to Wales, my car went into limp mode. A week prior to the car going to limp mode the DPF light came up on the dash. Because i was being a lazy t**t I didn't do a DPF regen immediately, I thought I would kill two birds with one stone and sort it on my drive to Wales. When the car went into limp mode, I was driving along doing around 50mph and all of a sudden the coil light came up flashing and beeped at me alongside the engine management light (Which illuminated constantly). A message came up with something along the lines of "Get to a workshop immediately otherwise your car will blow up". The following morning I took the car to the garage and they took it down the bypass to regen the DPF using a Snap OBD thingy. They managed to get the car out of limp mode, however the car still retained the DPF light on constantly and a flashing coil light. I switched the car off then turned it back on, the car went straight back into limp mode and the engine management light popped up again. I then took it to a specialist who checked over the DPF's vacuum pipes, wiring and sensors using a mechanical pressure gauge a smoke test was also undertaken. They said that everything is working normally and I would be able to regen it myself by taking it down the motorway. So they took the engine management light off and off I went. I switched the car off again when I got home and the engine management light came back on when I went to start it up again. 90 miles and 1 hour and 20 minutes past and it was still the same. I'm right in thinking that to regen a DPF the car has to be out of limp mode and the engine management light has to be off? The first time I went to the garage we went probably 5 miles with the car out of limp mode and the engine management light off, I suspect that I should have driven it until all lights went out? If so I will go back to the garage and get them to plug the machine in while I do the regen? Any responses are greatly appreciated, I'm not used to this much faffing around with electronics, my Mk1 fiesta and Sierra Xr4x4 were never this trouble! Guess these are the joys of owning a modern car?
