Here's a question for you. Did Skoda ever rally the Favorit and if they did, or anyone else for that matter, how did they strengthen the body shell i.e. seam welding ect.

Thanks for the tip! I have picked up another Favorit for fifty quid of the same model and have swapped the alternator over; problem solved! Now my reversing lights have stopped working and will check out the fuse box like the other guy is doing!

Hi,this is my first thread on this site so i hope it makes some sense! The Skoda in question is a 1995 Favorit GLXie 1.3 and the electrics are playing up. The fun begins when you switch on the lights at dusk and they begin to flicker at idle. I have tested the battery and the alternator for drops in current and they seem healthy enough. My next thought is to try an auto electrician though it could be pricey. I suspect if the Police saw it, i could expect points or a fine at the least. Anyone got any good ideas out there?
