  1. Hi Thanks for your reply, we had a rac man tow it to a local garage and he actually said he thought he could see the master or slave not sure which was external so we’ll see now what the garage comes up with.
  2. Hi, there’s around 120,000 miles so quite a lot really, just wondering how much it will cost if it’s just slave cylinder, and if not how much a clutch and flywheel will be, it’s an 07 so she’s getting on now but would like to get a couple more years out of the car ! Is this a repair that needs to go to the garage or will could it be done on drive by a mobile mechanic ??? thank you for your help on this
  3. Thanks for your reply if it is the slave cylinder is it a clutch replacement ?
  4. The clutch on Skoda octavia suddenly stopped working whilst we were out, then couldn’t get it in to gear, when you push it there’s no resistance and you have to pull it back up, does anyone know if this is a hydraulic hose problem ??
  5. Well I will see what happens this evening and hope for the best, we are booked in a garage for next week as we are driving to Ireland which is why we gotta get it sorted ASAP. thanks for the advice.
  6. Right ok great I will relay all and see how we get on this evening. Thanks again:) is that the gear stick as I have a feeling he was thinking it was more inside the bonnet on the transmission part that you push down to lock it when doing the adjustment ????
  7. Spoke to my husband and he said he doesn't think it's that, he said its when you go from neutral to left and right not up and down on the gear stick any other possibilities ?? he mentioned something about a pivot ????
  8. Brilliant thank you, read somewhere else it could be that. thanks so much for all the advice : )
  9. Ok so a bit more advice if possible please. the linkage adjustment was successful and gears are now smooth, but there's a squeaking every time gear stick is moved which seems to be coming from the locking mechanism inside the car, any ideas ??? thanks
  10. It's ok we got it sorted smooth gears now, sounds a bit squeky though on that bit you push down to lock it, under the bonnet I mean, my husband seems to think needs to be greased, anyway it's a lot better then before, so thanks for helpful advice
  11. Ok help we seem to have totally messed up the gears we tried to do the adjustment and 1st gear is now reverse and 2nd won't engage !!!!
