I have the connecta from halfords. Set to record on movement sensitivity in the middle. Dont think this makes much difference to battery as its constantly on, only saving the recording it it detects movement. No issues overnight where it records all movement within sensitivity. I never checked how long it recorded when parked at airport for a week.

Im running the Blackvue 750s 2ch with the ODB power connection in parking mode. Its on all night and does not hit the limits set to power off when it sees the battery current drop This is on a new car with new battery, time will tell if this causes an issue, I do occasional see the message on the dash that stop/start cant be used, unsure if this is related.

I got rear ended last week on motorway, insurance just confirmed its not economical to repair:(. They did however give a good price for me to keep the salvage. As this looks to be a very rare car with lots of options im wondering if it's worth keeping to fix or sell on as damaged? Damage is classed as cat s , the panel behind the light inside boot is creased. Can you phone up salvage company's and ask if they will buy? 2011 superb estate with the 2.0tfsi engine with quad exhaust. Panoramic sunroof. Heated seats. Sat nav etc.

question on front pdc retrofitting
Pody replied to nicko530i's topic in Skoda Superb Mk II (2008-2015)
Hi Nicko, any update on the complete retrofitting post I also have the rear only PDC, what do I need to add the fronts? just the wiring loom and the sensors? -
Problem resolved, thanks for the info bigJohn. As soon as i pulled back the grommet and seen the red electrical tape it was obvious. Previous repair (not me) had only twisted the wires together, this shorting of this particular cable added more strain on it. I soldered in an additional small piece of cable, Unfortunately I don't have heatshrink sleeving this small so black electrical tape wrapped tight had to do.

Thanks bigjohn, mine is a combo not twindoor so dont think there will be much stress in the cable in the grommit. I'll still see if I can get into the grommit to check the cabling. cheers pody

Hi all, I have the warning on the dash for number plate bulb out, both are not working. Multimeter check of the cable shows no power :S Looking online there is no separate fuse for these, do I need to reset something? Other lights back of car work with no issues I was testing with the boot (combi) open, Im assuming power is given even if the boot is open?

Be interesting to hear how a remap is on your superb. i also have the Mk2 2.0 TSI estate and have been thinking about the upgrade. How much extra torque can the dsq take? I updated my maps using the SD hack and had no issues.

And its back :( check oil level and oil sensor workshop Maxidot was telling me the oil temp was 65C after the car was sitting outside work for 9 hours, it then rose to 117C on drive home. It was a warm day at 23C is sunny scotland :S The number plate lighting is away again, still dont work after replacing bulbs Garage has said it needs a auto electrician, not good after 1 month ownership

Hi Fernrock, from what I've read elsewhere this is a common issue with dirty lasers. Also check your firmware version supports v14 maps The process of copying files to SD card and booting off boot CD should solve the issue. Its a relatively simple process, let me know if you need the steps. I wouldn't trust the dealers, I thought map updates are supposed to done with each service? Mine had full service history and the original map version :S

So i ordered a pair of springs from bearing boys and didnt pay attention the huge briskoda thread that detailed this was for the octavia estate, not the superb estate The boot wont close with them as they are way too long, has anyone fitted a pair that work? Looking to see what length spring works with the superb

I just updated mine, it took half an hour. I did use the SD card trick, VAG app copies maps to SD card, you boot the headunit unit off a boot CD that points to SD card. I can go into more detail if required, and obviously allowed
