  1. Hi Bjorn Please could you give me a clear explanation as to where the N249Valve is located. Is it the throttle body valve ? If poss do you or anyone else have a photo of the N249 Valve or can explain from a photo. And how much are they ? and where from. I don't much do i ! Many thanks
  2. hi i had the power loss problem for about 3 months, totally annoying. I have read many posts on here at the power loss/surge problem. People have changed all sorts. I was convinced it was my turbo, new turbo £700 later, problem still there ( mk1 octy vRS ). Yesterday on the way home work, i heard a loud air sucking in noise, and the car was misfiring as if it was going to stop dead. Checked it out when i got in and on top of the throttle valve unit is a steel elbow joined to a series of small pipes with 2 resevoirs inbetween the set of pipes. The steel elbow had blown itself out of the throttle body unit, resulting in a huge vacuum effect of sucking in air to the TVU. I have put the steel elbow back in the hole and sealed with some quick steel putty, so hopefully it will securelt seal it, then i will know if that was the problem all along. I hadn't noticed it before, so maybe the elbow has gradually work itself out of the hole. A mk1 golf gti expert said 1. Try an seal the elbow, if it is the cause, once sealed with liquid metal or quick steel should sort it. New throttle valve unit from skoda £291.00 plus VAT. You cannot buy a new elbow as the elbow is factory fitted to the throttle valve unit. 2. He said if that doesnt work he said he's 100% sure the throttle valve is acting intermittantly. If thats the case i will get a second TVU. 3. Skoda mechanic said he'd try replacing the pressure sensor 1st before TVU. Pressure sensor is just under the top right hand corner of your engine cover. Mine does feel very loose and would explain one minute it drives and performs fine, then in an instant power loss and drives spluttery and sometimes sounds as if its not firing on all cylinders. Your codes you have mentioned 17965 - Charge Pressure Control: Positive Deviation - Is this the pressure sensor ??? P1557 - 35-10 - - - Intermittent - Is this your TVU or something different ??? Has anybody changed their TVU ?? If so looking at it seems pretty straight fwd tochange undo sensor clips, disconnet pipe from steel elbow on top of the TVU, Undo the four allen key bolts. Do you need to replace the paper gasket ? From experience will it tear when removing the old one ? Are the gaskets easy to get hold of ? Hope you get yours sorted. Any help, idea's would be great. Many thanks.
  3. Hi Cheers for the info, great help nice one. lornster
  4. Evening All I posted the above last night can anyone help. Thanks in advance lornster
  5. Hi Could anyone please help me out with some part numbers. Preferably the equivalent to the skoda part no.s ie vw or audi. Both would be even better if anyone knows them. For a 02 oct vrs hatch. Front Anti Roll Bar Front ARB Bushes N249 Valve Coil packs MAF Sensor You may have guessed from my list, i have that loss of power, iffy acceleration, jerkiness turbo whistling its head off but no real acceleration, thing going on. From reading other threads on this problem i recall that if you replace the MAF, N249 valve and coil packs the problem seemed to clear and has not returned. Please correct me if i am wrong. I just want my power back and no irractic acceleration stutters. Would anyone know or recommend where i could get these parts from ( not skoda dealer ) Cheers lornster
  6. Thanks for your replies. I will have a good look on saturday. Cheers Daz
  7. Hi Okay thanks mate. When you get your manual back on Sat. Could you possibly see where fuse 14 is located. Thanks
  8. Hi Thanks for that, i will check that fuse out. Cheers Daz
  9. Hi All My drivers window on octy mk1 vrs has packed in. It is down about an inch and a half but wont go back up. Also my interior lights in the head lining also packed in at same time the window jammed. Also now have opening and lockn issues when using the key fob. I have read many posts about it could be the connectors on the motor. Anyway before investigating that route. I want to check out the fuse situation. Mine is an ex police car and i got no manuals or anything else with the car just the key and V5 Doc. Please could you tell me which number fuse works the drivers side window and where is this fuse located. Is it in the main fuse box on edge of drivers side dash. Would anyone have a picture of the fuse box and bev able to point out to me which fuse is for drivers window. As when i take the fuse box cover off it doesnt tell me anything on the cover. Thanks Daz

  11. Hi Thanks for that. I think i will try clean and vaseline the connector and see what happens. If that doesnt work i will have to get a new connector. I am still puzzled as to why my interior lights now wont work and locks wont work off the fob. Cheers Daz
  12. Hi Thanks for the reply. Now i think on, it was a frosty morning last week and i poured luke warm water on all the windows to defrost them, then it was when i got in the car i lowered my window inch n half then it jammed and would not go up, then i noticed other things had packed in as well. But that is no different to when the car gets washed i suppose. Hows much is a new loom connector any idea. am over the water Daz
  13. Hi All Can anyone please advise me. These faults all occured at the same time. 1. Drivers window has jammed, leaving a inch and a half gap around window. 2. None of the other windows are working now 3. Interior lights in the head lining wont work now 4. Doors wont open or lock when using the remote fob. This week has been freezn an its doind me head in early in the morning with a icey freeze coming in. Wakes me up though. I automatically assumed for three electrical components to go down all at the same time, then surely a fuse has blown. I have checked the fuse box on the edge of the drivers side dash. Couldnt see any blown ones. But i read on another post that there are sum electric window cut off fuses located - remove the panel around the pedals and look up thats were they are. I avnt had a look yet. Now i am a bit more concerned that the elec window motor may have gone. On the other hand i was hoping someone would reply saying "yer i had same prob it was block fuse part no ????? which is located ????? Any advice would be most appreciated. Merry Xmas to you all Daz
  14. Bengie Thanks for the reply and info Cheers Daz
