Saving a MK1 Octavia VRS Police Car, FJ54 WYP
YellowAges replied to a1topdog's topic in Octavia Projects
Great work so far - what a Project! This reminds me of one I saw for sale a few years back (Classified Ad. seems to have disappeared, however found a few old photos from when it was in use by Kent Police) - note the light bar! https://www.google.com/search?q=mk1+skoda+octavia+police+car+gn53+loa&tbm=isch&ved=2ahUKEwi-lcbiirv8AhUvUaQEHTc-DwMQ2-cCegQIABAA&oq=mk1+skoda+octavia+police+car+gn53+loa&gs_lcp=CgNpbWcQAzoECCMQJ1C5BFjgKGCLK2gAcAB4AIABQogBqgSSAQIxMJgBAKABAaoBC2d3cy13aXotaW1nwAEB&sclient=img&ei=bVi8Y_6qMa-ikdUPt_y8GA&bih=937&biw=1920&rlz=1C1GCEA_enGB931GB931&safe=active&ssui=on#imgrc=IiB_f5SJABLIxM- 136 replies

RE: Part no. for Rear coil spring bottom mount Hello, I need to replace both rear coil springs on my 2003 MK1 Octavia vRS Estate, and have already sourced the top rubber mounts, however am struggling to find the bottom mounts (even main dealer can get this for MK2 onwards, but not MK1). Many thanks in advance of replies

Thanks - can't understand why Yellow would be so rare / un-popular (such a "distinguished" colour IMHO!!!) Great to see some others on here - great looking cars!

Hello peeps! Just changed the front tyres from the budget ones (which were on the car when I bought it), to a nice pair of Dunlop Sport Maxx RT2 92Y XL (225/40/r18) http://www.tyrereviews.co.uk/Tyre/Dunlop/SportMaxx-RT-2.htm Only £75 each all in from F1 Autocentres, and what a difference in all round performance!

VRS 1.8t rear exhaust silencer end tip
YellowAges replied to octaviatdi02's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk I (1996-2004)
Looks like a handy info from Lyminton and Nige8021, however if you don't fancy forking out for an exhaust pipe just to get the tip, good ol' eBay might yield something second-hand? -
VRS 1.8t rear exhaust silencer end tip
YellowAges replied to octaviatdi02's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk I (1996-2004)
Not 100% certain, however I think that you can't buy this as a separate item (have to get it as part of the exhaust pipe?) Either that, or you get someone who's good at welding??? -
Thanks!

Ohh - sounds really "Secret Agent"-like!!! (is that for the anti-braking / proximity?)
-
Forgot to ask - anyone know what the clear plastic bit on the grille is for? (just below the badge)
-
Great video - many thanks for doing this - very informative!!!
-
I'd love to get one of these (just the lack of funds stopping me!!!)
-
Yes, that'll probably be a good idea (did search for previous existing Threads before posting, however yielded now't)

Whilst visiting my local Skoda Dealer in search for a replacement part (service received from Parts Counter was excellent!) I happened to stumble across this beauty!!! (Not sure about the new colours for the vRS badge, but the colour of the car itself more than makes up for this!!!)
-
Yup, can confirm my 03 plate vRS does

NEWS ARTICLE: The Man who owns 70 Skodas!
YellowAges replied to YellowAges's topic in General Automotive Chat
Hi Mac11irl - I did wonder that too (would be a handy contact for anyone who might need the odd spare part or two!!!) -

Mine has a similar "haunch" to the back - perhaps due to allowances for heavier loads in the boot?

Climatronic error code 4FA 00
YellowAges replied to irishpie's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk I (1996-2004)
Not sure if your issue is the same as mine, however just in case..... YA -
Aside from the obvious arrogance (of some Dealers), I'd imagine that they didn't want to release the car, as the other Dealer would then be loosing out on commission (only a guess mind!) Car Manufacturers / Dealers who have this "can't be bothered" or "take it or leave it" don't deserve to retain their Loyal Customers, nor do they deserve new customers (in me own humble opinion!)
