  1. My Move and Fun app updated today, first drive out in the Citigo for 2 weeks, took a while to resync with the car and the resultant new fuel and distance computer screen is worse! Why have they made the text smaller and more difficult to read?
  2. The phone cradle also came with pre-facelifted Citigo during 2016/17.
  3. Received a letter direct from Skoda Auto today asking me to make an appointment to have the towing eye from the boot replaced. Apparently they have discovered that some were supplied with a faulty weld. Our Citigo is a 2017 Colour edition. They advise removing it from the boot and keeping it elsewhere to avoid its use.. its also logged as a Safety Recall.
  4. Not necessarily, my iPhone connects to the onboard system through Bluetooth using the Skoda App. Also available on Android I believe. I use the dashboard USB port if the phone needs charging, it also allows the phon e to connect to the system, and if used you get a message in the radio display stating 5he Bluetooth connection is then disabled. I bought. A short curled usb lead for this purpose rather than have a long lead dangling on the dashboard. The phone can be controlled through the radio controls when connected
  5. I can confirm the phone App does display the coolant temperature on the 2018 models, similar to the PID on earlier models. I assume you have the Skoda phone cradle in place.
  6. I’ve been using the app on my iPhone 6s for the last 18 months, it is glitch free, and works very well, especially the fuel computer aspect. The sat Nav is ok, but I’ve found by loading a stand-alone sat Nav app ‘Here we go’ far better.
  7. If you are referring to the Move and Fun App on your phone and not the Garmin unit, then try downloading the HERE we go app for Navigation. I use on my IPhone 6,far easier to use than the Skoda app and allows you to use it without Data once you’ve downloaded the Maps via WiFi. It’s also of use if you’re on holiday, I have just used it whilst hiring a car in Corfu and it worked fine without a data connection, just needed to download the Corfu map beforehand.
  8. I am surprised at all these comments saying don’t do it! I think back to the early 70’s when my 1966 Mini 85 survived many long journeys with 4 up , stuffed full of luggage, didn’t have streamlined roof boxes then, just a metal roof rack with cases on! Pah, you’re all snowflakes ( to coin a popular phase) - no insult intended. I think we we forget how advanced our Citigo are compared with the cars of 40 years ago, and speaking of reliability, how often have we had to top up our water, oil, brake fluid in between annul, services on a Citigo? The Citigo is a Rolls Royce compared to a 60’s Mini, and you can hear the radio at Motorway speeds. OK, it doesn’t have the performance of an Octy or Yeti, but it is a willing beast. I’ve just had the luxury of an Octy 1.4TSI DSG while our Citigo was in for a service today, and yes it was very nice and powerful, but did it get me the 20 miles home any quicker than the Citigo?, no and it used more fuel despite having 2 cylinder shutdown. Rant over!
  9. I presume you are talking only about the front doors as you have a 3 door? I’m not sure you can disable the inside handles on a 3 door, the deadlocks will unlock as it’s a safety issue so the occupants can get out in an emergency. As I’ve said before on this thread, on a 5 door, the child safety locks will deactivate the rear doors interior handle.
  10. My view is that it is unlikely that Skoda would downgrade the higher spec models to the ‘s’ spec instrument binnacle. I have never known a car manufacturer to downgrade models during its lifecycle, there is always a refreshment of the specification to attract new buyers. You only have to take note of the additional specifications now available on the newer model over the original release of the Citigo. The new new phone cradle system is a more modern addition bringing the technology in the car up to date with other manufacturers and is across the VW Up, Citigo and Seat Mini models, personally I don’t have an issue with it as I didn’t have a PID in my older SE. I don’t like it’s Sat Nav function however and continue to use my Garmin. Incidentally Michael, you can use the USB port by the cradle as a pure charger port , as you can with any usb socket, it’s just that the port also allows a smart phone, iPod or other MP3 player to communicate with the radio. My Garmin Sat Nav will work from this port, but I lose the traffic function as it only functions properly if I use the Garmin power socket lead. Interestingly, the ‘basic’ S model has the more basic radio with CD player as well as the single instrument binnacle. just the thoughts of another ‘old fart’
  11. Ok, there should be a rocker switch on the drivers armrest that toggles between lock/unlock that when pressed locks all the doors, however I don’t think it will disable the rear interior door handle from opening the door, only the child locks do that.
  12. Why not just set the child locks? Easily done, there is a lock on the edge of the rear doors that you turn with your key.
  13. Hi Michael i personally always recommend Garmin sat navs, easy to use, good value, lifetime maps update. The user interface is easy and gives lots of information with real time traffic updates at no extra cost. heres one that’s currently on offer at Halfrauds http://www.halfords.com/technology/sat-nav/car-sat-nav/garmin-drive-50-lm-5-sat-nav-with-uk-and-ireland-maps-2016?cm_mmc=Google+PLA-_-Sat+Nav-_-Car+Sat+Nav-_-224656&istCompanyId=b8708c57-7a02-4cf6-b2c0-dc36b54a327e&istItemId=appmwmaax&istBid=tzir&_$ja=tsid:94971|cid:868555900|agid:49387677092|tid:aud-297219198889:pla-329482923979|crid:203456299608|nw:g|rnd:15797800106323057936|dvc:t|adp:1o1|mt:|loc:9045127&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIh-Hdy8LS2AIVqbDtCh0pZwXBEAQYASABEgI-svD_BwE hope this helps Steve
  14. Been using Tesco, Morrison and Sainsbury’s for the last 14 years since I no longer have the benefit of company cars, never had any problems in any of our patrol or diesel cars in that time. The only time I did have a problem was some 20 odd years ago when my wife’s Metro was filled mostly with water at a Texaco petrol station, never went there again! yes, sometimes it is a pain queuing at a supermarket petrol station, but it’s usually combined with a shop visit anyway.
  15. It’s certainly not normal, the seat should remain in its adjusted position until its readjusted again. My daughters Golf Plus has the same problem, her driver’s seat gradually lowers itself, but she’s learnt to live with it as the cost of the repair is not high on her priorities. I have had VW and Skoda cars over the last 15 years, and i’ve Never experienced the problem myself. I would suggest a chat with your local Skoda specialist to enquire what the cost of repair is if you find it an inconvenience.
