  1. I was just about to buy a new vcds system as I`m having persistent connection issues, I live on the Scottish border near Berwick upon tweed. I did buy a newer can gateway but have done nothing yet except put the new head unit into the car. Do you supply gateways that will do the job
  2. Hello, I have been reading on the forum that you may well be the person who can help me with an issue I`m having with my Octavia.  I have a 56 plate 1.9 tdi with the dsg box. I have changed the old stream mp3 head unit for a bolero taken from a 2012 Octavia and I`m having the battery drain issue. I believe you may be able to help with the correct can gateway? any and all help would be appreciated. Adrian

  3. Hi guys, having a problem with battery drain following a radio upgrade from the stream to a bolero. My motor is a late 2006 Octavia which had the standard stream mp3 head unit fitted. I have changed it for a Bolero unit from a 2012 car. The head unit is working fine both the radio and the CD unit. I do have the dim light issue which goes away with a flick of the light switch however, I now have the dreaded battery drain problem. My question is, can I simply change the gateway for a newer unit, say a Q or better, without any other issues, and is it just a case of one out and one in? ( I have a new Q coded gateway ready to change ) Cheers in advance Adrian

  5. I have just had the same issue with my Octavia TDI with the DSG box. It was having a hard time selecting the correct gear and holding onto gears for far to long. At first I suspected the gearbox needed an oil change but then, after a few days I had an ABS warning light come on. This caught my attention and after a quick scan, I discovered rear left ABS signal was intermittent. It is a little strange but the bad sensor was having a bad effect on the DSG but initially was not bad enough to set an ABS code. I decided to replace the sensor and the bearing which has the tone ring built in. Hay presto, the TSG issue disappeared and the day was saved. So, the moral of the story is, a TSG fault may not always be a fault in the gearbox, scan your ABS system.
  6. Hi Buddy, what do you need done and where do you live ?
  7. Thank you very much for the info. No access to VCDS just now but I do think it will be worth taking the seat out to lift the carpet and get the joints soldered. I think tomorrow afternoon / evening will be best. I`m hoping it will turn out to be a bad joint in this area because of the issue with both the seat and the interior light not coming on when doors are open, what do you think ? As I said, I have changed the ccm with no improvement to the issue so I`m thinking it must be a wiring problem.
  8. Hi All, I`m having a problem with the drivers seat,( 2005 Skoda Superb edition 100 ) it has just stopped working along with the interior light. I suspect water ingress but need some help. I have tested every fuse and relay, all fine. I have lifted the carpet in the front passenger side which was very wet but the ccm was bone dry and showing no sign of being damp or wet. I have also cut all the joints in the harness beside the door and soldered as many as I could find. Question, does the harness have more crimped connections in the rear footwell or on the rib under the passanger seat. Any help would be great. Cheer lads. Adrian
  9. Hi Guys, just to let you know, the auto gear knob from the Passat B5.5 is a direct replacement for this superb mk1 It is not as good looking but it is a good sturdy replacement for the Superb 1. ps. easy way to fit it is just put a piece of tape around the piece of the chrome button that is sticking out and pinch the tape, you can then use the tape as a hand grip to ease the button out as you slide the knob into position.
